AI-augmented development
Use agentic AI tools (such as Claude Code) as your default workflow.
Develop judgment about where these tools help and where they quietly produce garbage. Bring that back to the engineering team.
Try new tools as they ship and tell us what you found, including the failures.
Engineering Intern II

AECOM is seeking a Engineering Intern to join our team in Chicago, Illinois.
This position is expected to begin in May 2027.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on projects such as planning and design for streets and transit infrastructure improvements.
- CAD design, quantity calculations, and preparation of plan drawings.
- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study
