What You'll Do
- Vulnerability Management: Triage and track inbound findings from SAST, DAST, IAST, SCA tools, and external sources (bug bounty, penetration tests). Maintain strong awareness of vulnerability trends and exploitability. Prioritize remediation using a risk-based approach, partnering directly with engineering teams.
- Secure SDLC Integration: Partner with engineering and platform leadership to embed security practices throughout the development lifecycle. Influence and evolve the AppSec tooling and automation roadmap—including emerging AI-assisted capabilities—through prototyping, evaluation, and feedback.
- Threat Modeling & Design Reviews: Lead threat modeling and participate in feature-team design reviews to ensure security best practices are applied across new features and architectural changes. Collaborate early with engineers, architects, and tech leads during design sessions to identify risks, guide secure design decisions, and embed security into system architecture.
- Code & Application Reviews: Perform deep, targeted reviews of high‑risk code paths, APIs, authentication/authorization flows, and sensitive components. Coordinate with Penetration Testers, Red Teams, and Compliance teams to ensure holistic coverage.
- AI & LLM Security: Partner with teams adopting AI and LLM-based systems—both internal tooling and production features—to ensure secure design, model and data protection, prompt/input validation, and safe integration patterns. Assess and mitigate risks related to data leakage, model behavior, supply chain concerns, and emerging AI security threats.
- Automation & Tooling: Build and maintain security automation integrated into CI/CD pipelines. Automate detection, validation, and developer‑friendly remediation workflows to improve signal quality and reduce friction.
- Developer Guidance & Training: Serve as a domain expert and partner to engineering teams. Deliver workshops, provide secure coding guidance, and help teams adopt effective security controls and testing practices.
- Cloud Application Security: Advise on application‑layer security in cloud-native environments, including identity, secrets management, network exposure, and service‑to‑service authentication.
- IoT Device & Platform Security: Provide security guidance for IoT devices and platform components, including OSS dependency risk analysis and security considerations for legacy or constrained devices.
- Security Policy & Compliance: Translate policy and compliance requirements into practical guidance for developers. Contribute to policy evolution and support audit activities as needed.
- Incident Response: Collaborate with InfoSec during security incidents and investigations. Maintain and evolve runbooks and contribute to post‑incident reviews to drive systemic improvements.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in application security, software engineering, or related technical security roles (8+ acceptable for exceptionally strong candidates).
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, C#) and ability to navigate large, complex codebases.
- Knowledge of application security best practices across both cloud and on‑prem environments, including cloud‑hosted Kubernetes and related cloud services.
- Hands‑on experience with AppSec tooling and techniques (SAST, DAST, SCA, IAST, WAF, etc.).
- Strong understanding of vulnerabilities, exploitability, and security principles (e.g., OWASP Top 10, secure design patterns).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Demonstrated ability to influence engineering teams and drive security outcomes without relying on authority.
- Strong analytical thinking, practical problem‑solving skills, and a balanced approach to technical risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex security issues to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with GitHub Advanced Security (including code scanning, secret scanning, and dependency insights) is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI and LLM security concepts—such as model hardening, prompt/input validation, data protection, and the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs—is preferred.

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across teams. What You’ll Do
As a Principal Software Engineer on the emPower team, you will help design and evolve systems that coordinate physical devices, cloud services, mobile and web applications, automation engines, partner integrations, and data pipelines. You will work across product, firmware, platform, operations, and application engineering teams to turn ambiguous business and technical needs into reliable, scalable, and maintainable software systems.
You will be expected to lead through technical depth, sound judgment, and influence. You will own important architecture decisions, guide implementation strategy, and help engineers across multiple teams build better systems.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for systems spanning IoT device control, smart home automation, energy, HVAC, water, and connected-device experiences.
- Lead architecture and design for major software components, services, APIs, data flows, and integration patterns.
- Help evolve existing monolithic systems into more modular, scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Partner with product, firmware, platform, operations, and application teams to turn ambiguous needs into clear technical direction.
- Mentor engineers at multiple levels and help raise the technical bar through design reviews, code reviews, technical guidance, and reusable patterns.
- Drive cross-team collaboration and execution across multiple technical domains.
- Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies where they can materially improve product capabilities or engineering outcomes.
- Reason across the full product stack, including backend services, databases, APIs, web and mobile experiences, device integrations, automation logic, and operational tooling.
- Be an expert on system architecture, functionality, data flows, operational processes, and the tools needed to operate production systems effectively.
- Provide technical thought leadership for major software components, systems, and features, earning alignment and driving adoption across teams.
- Exercise strong engineering judgment: know when to move quickly, when to invest in a robust platform capability, and when to avoid unnecessary complexity.

What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 15+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience designing, building, and delivering complex software systems.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills; experience with C#/.NET or a similar object-oriented language is required; direct C# and .NET experience would be a major plus.
- Significant database design, performance, and development experience.
- Experience leading technical direction across teams and influencing architecture beyond a single project or codebase.
- Experience mentoring engineers and helping develop people, practices, and reusable technical solutions.
- Ability to select appropriate frameworks, architecture patterns, and technical approaches, then educate teams and drive adoption.
- Strong analytical skills and a practical problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to lead and influence across teams without relying solely on reporting authority.
- Ability to reason across the full product stack, including backend services, data stores, APIs, device integrations, and web/mobile user experiences.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, software development lifecycles, and long-term maintainability concerns.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders.

- Experience with IoT, smart home, energy management, HVAC, water, automation, or connected-device systems.

Staff Software Engineer – SDA Platform
Most engineers optimize for the service in front of them. Staff engineers optimize for the platform that must keep delivering across hundreds of services two years from now — and they know the difference between a library that's elegant on paper and one that holds up when every feature team in the company depends on it.
We're in the middle of a significant architectural evolution at Alarm.com — decomposing a large monolith into well-bounded, separately deployable applications (SDA) — and the SDA Platform team is the team that makes that possible. We own the proxy API layer that exposes monolith functionality today, the shared libraries every SDA is built on, and the developer tooling that shapes how engineering teams across ADC build software. We need someone who has done platform work like this before: who understands how shared infrastructure accrues complexity, how to set standards that teams actually adopt, and how to bring engineers along without breaking what's already in production.
This is a hands-on role. You'll write code, lead design sessions, and stay close to production. The difference is that your decisions ripple outward — they shape how the whole organization builds.

WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ALARM.COM?
- Technical Leadership: Contribute to the technical direction of the SDA Platform team, helping guide the proxy API suite and key SDAs (Customer Login, Profile, Weather) — ensuring these services are built to a high standard and are operationally excellent.
- Platform Library Stewardship: Help maintain and evolve the shared SDA library suite (Alarm.Kafka, Alarm.AspNetCore.*, Alarm.BackgroundService, Alarm.Caching.Redis, Alarm.CronJobs, and more) that serves as the foundational infrastructure for all SDA development at ADC.
- Domain Architecture: Drive architectural analysis and design for core platform domains. Help ADC untangle historically coupled concepts — Customer Accounts, Customer Logins, Profiles — into properly bounded, maintainable service boundaries.
- Developer Experience: Improve and maintain the SDA developer experience through dotnet-templates, Backstage integration, Specmatic contract testing, and progressive delivery tooling with Helm and Argo Rollouts.
- Cross-Team Influence: Participate in architecture reviews, provide technical guidance to other engineering teams building on SDA infrastructure, and advocate for platform best practices across the organization.
- Observability & Operations: Ensure the operational health of platform services through Grafana dashboards, alert validation, load testing support, and a strong culture of operational readiness.
- Mentorship: Actively mentor engineers on the team, leading synchronous code reviews, raising technical bar, and helping junior and mid-level engineers grow their skills in platform engineering, domain design, and distributed systems.
- AI Enablement: Model effective use of AI tools across the team — identifying where they provide real leverage and helping the team build good instincts for when and how to apply them.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience with C# and .NET Core; experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical work on a team — setting direction, unblocking others, and holding a high bar for quality
- Experience designing and building shared platform libraries or internal developer tooling used by other engineering teams
- Experience with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and background service patterns
- Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts: caching (Redis), high availability, service decomposition
- Strong architectural instincts — you can evaluate a design, identify coupling risks, and guide teams toward better domain boundaries
- Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and modern observability tooling (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills — you can write clear design documents, run productive code reviews, and explain complex tradeoffs to both engineers and stakeholders
We would love it if you also had:
- Experience with contract testing (e.g., Specmatic, Pact) and progressive delivery patterns (e.g., Argo Rollouts, canary deployments)
- Familiarity with internal developer portals (e.g., Backstage) and developer experience programs
- Experience with legacy API modernization or monolith decomposition at scale
- Experience with Helm chart development and Kubernetes-native infrastructure tooling

Job Summary
Voyager Technologies is seeking a Software & Test Integration Engineer to help plan, integrate, and execute software verification and test activities for our next generation of lunar landers.In this role, you'll work alongside a talented, multidisciplinary team to ensure mission-critical software performs flawlessly—from the lab to launch and ultimately on the lunar surface. We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is eager to solve complex technical challenges. Responsibilities include:
- Design test plans and test procedures to validate and verify spacecraft software and hardware, including rocket engines, inertial measurement units, star trackers, radar systems, sun sensors, thermal controllers, lidar, and guidance, navigation and control algorithms designed to autonomously navigate a spacecraft to the moon and land on it.
- Develop software testing infrastructure and tests within it that facilitate easily verifying that spacecraft systems function the same across platforms with varying combinations of emulators and spacecraft hardware.
- Improve the capabilities of software testing infrastructure to support both developer and automated testing needs, enabling tighter integration between developers and testers.
- Execute test procedures manually in cases where multi-million dollar spacecraft hardware is involved, and report regressions. Ideally develop the automated system so that manual testing follows automated testing closely.
- Expand tests that run autonomously on a nightly basis against a continuous integration pipeline across different test platforms, for increased test coverage across more systems.
- Write bug tickets when software issues are incurred as part of our verification process.
- Develop automatic reporting tools and mechanisms to improve understanding of how failed and passed tests map to subsystem-level requirements.
- Benchmark and analyze spacecraft system performance across all flight modes.
- Help identify and resolve anomalous software behavior.
- Work with a small team of developers, engineers and technicians to proactively solve problems found through testing the spacecraft software system.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Manage and schedule test regressions and test resources.
- Manage test software repositories for multiple projects.
- Perform acceptance tests and trace tested features back to requirements
- Collect, analyze and present test metrics.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or graduate degree, ideally in a technical field.
- Minimum five years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Demonstrated ability to build and test distributed software and/or hardware systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead anomaly investigation activities involving multiple experts.
Beneficial Qualifications:
- Knowledge of formal software V and V processes.
- Proficiency with software configuration management tools (e.g. git).
- Experience with containers (e.g. Docker) and virtual machines (e.g. QEMU).
- Experience with Linux and other embedded operating systems.
- Familiarity with coding safety standards (e.g. MISRA-C).
- Familiarity with communication protocols (e.g. CCSDS, Ethernet, RS-422, TCP/IP, I2C, QAM, RS-232, Spacewire, CAN, GPIO, IPC, MIL1553, RS-485).
- Familiarity with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers.
- Familiarity with electrical circuit dynamics.
- Familiarity with environmental testing (e.g. EMC/EMI, thermal-vacuum testing).
- Familiarity with some of the systems that the software system is driving including multi-DOF spacecraft controls, thermal systems, RF communications systems, avionics systems, and power systems.
