AccuWeather is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, DevOps to lead a small team of engineers responsible for the infrastructure, automation, deployment, reliability, and operational capabilities that support AccuWeather's consumer, enterprise, API, and internal technology platforms.
This role combines people leadership with strong technical depth and cross-functional influence. The Senior Manager will establish priorities and direction for DevOps while remaining close enough to the technology to guide technical decisions, remove roadblocks, respond to operational issues, and partner effectively with Software Engineering, Product, Security, and other teams across AccuWeather. The ideal candidate continually looks for opportunities to improve reliability, simplify operations, increase automation, reduce cost, and enable engineering teams to deliver software more quickly and safely.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, develop, and support a team of engineers including performance management, goal setting, career development, hiring, and resource planning
Define and execute the DevOps roadmap in alignment with Technology and Business priorities
Drive adoption of AI across DevOps to improve productivity, delivery, infrastructure management, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency
Identify and implement opportunities to use AI and intelligent automation with measurable improvements in speed, quality, or efficiency
Provide technical leadership across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, observability, and production operations
Ensure AccuWeather’s platforms and services are highly available, scalable, secure, maintainable, and recoverable
Continuously improve the SDLC by reducing manual processes, improving deployment safety, and enabling greater developer self-service
Establish and evolve standards and best practices for cloud infrastructure, configuration management, containers, automation, and operational tooling
Improve monitoring, logging, alerting, application performance visibility, and overall observability across supported platforms
Lead and improve incident response, root cause analysis, post-incident reviews, disaster recovery, and operational readiness practices
Partner internally to identify and address technical debt, reliability risks, scalability constraints, and operational efficiencies
Manage cloud and infrastructure capacity, utilization, and cost; identify opportunities to optimize technology spend without compromising reliability or performance
Incorporate security and compliance requirements into infrastructure, deployment, access, secrets management, and operational practices
Build strong partnerships across AccuWeather and help drive shared ownership
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
8+ years of progressive experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, site reliability, software engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience managing and developing technical employees
Strong technical understanding of modern cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS and CDN’s such as Akamai or Cloudflare
Strong technical understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automation, networking, containers, observability, and production operations
Experience supporting highly available web, mobile, API, data, or other large-scale platforms
Experience with incident management, monitoring and alerting, root-cause-analysis, disaster recovery, and production reliability practices
Demonstrated ability to balance reliability, delivery speed, security, technical debt, and infrastructure cost when making decisions
Experience managing cloud or infrastructure spend and identifying cost-optimization opportunities
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks, options, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences

AccuWeather is seeking an experienced and highly collaborative Director, AFB Technologies to provide technical leadership for the platforms, applications, services, and data that power AccuWeather for Business (AFB).
This role will be responsible for the technology strategy and evolution of the AFB web, mobile app, API, and data capabilities. The Director will develop a strong understanding of existing systems and business needs, work across Technology, Product, Security, Operations, and other teams to establish a modernization strategy, and lead its execution while continuing to support the needs of AccuWeather's enterprise customers.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth, people leadership, strategic thinking, and a pragmatic approach to modernization. This leader will help simplify and modernize AFB technologies,
strengthen security and operational practices, drive progress toward SOC 2 compliance, expand the use of AI across engineering and product capabilities, and identify opportunities for AFB technology investments to be reused across other AccuWeather platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical and organizational leadership for the AFB web portal, mobile applications, APIs, and AFB-specific data capabilities
Develop a deep understanding of existing AFB systems, integrations, dependencies, data flows, technical debt, and operational processes to establish a clear baseline for future investment
Define and execute a technology strategy and modernization roadmap that balances new capabilities, customer commitments, reliability, security, technical debt, and sustainability
Partner closely with Product, Technology, Security, Operations, and business stakeholders to translate AFB business and customer needs into scalable technical solutions and priorities
Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering tools and workflows to improve software development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and overall productivity

Reporting directly to the Manager, Data Engineering, this position will be responsible for designing and developing backend software that processes real-time weather data flows — including alerts, observations, and AccuWeather Alerts — powering AccuWeather's consumer and enterprise products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, develop, test, and maintain backend software processors that ingest, validate, transform, and distribute real-time weather data.
· Collaborate with software engineers, data operations, product managers, and business stakeholders to design and implement processing solutions that support AccuWeather's consumer and enterprise products.
· Develop new processing capabilities and enhance existing processors to support new weather data providers, data formats, business requirements, and product features.
