**Summary:**
Provides linen and excellent customer service to all departments that require laundry and linen services. Ensures laundry and linen inventory is appropriate to meet patient needs. Assists the laundry and linen department identify issues by communicating shortages, overages, and special requests within the hospital. Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Laboratory Assistant (Part-Time) in the Department of Utility Services. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of chemical, physical, and biological analyses on water, wastewater and bio solids samples in accordance with established methods and procedures, and performs related duties as assigned.
Position Details:
+ This is a part-time, PERS-eligible position
+ The work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department needs.
+ May be required to work an alternative or flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours.

Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, or a related science field
+ One (1) year of experience in a laboratory environment
+ Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
+ Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483.
+ Must obtain certification from the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) as a Wastewater Quality Analyst In-Training within one (1) year of appointment as a condition of continued employment
+ Must obtain and maintain certification as a Grade I Wastewater Quality Analyst from the NWEA within two (2) years of appointment as a condition of continued employment
+ All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by state and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained at incumbent’s expense.
