We are seeking a strategic Lead Sales Compensation Design Manager to help define our sales compensation strategy and support our sales compensation execution at Workiva. 

This high visibility role sits at the intersection of strategic planning and operational execution, offering significant exposure to senior leadership and opportunities for personal and professional growth as we mature and scale our global sales compensation program. 

What You’ll Do 

• Design competitive incentive compensation plans for all sales roles globally partnering with VP of Global Sales Compensation and Sales Planning

• Serve as a trusted advisor to global sales leadership, translating complex business objectives into scalable and best-in-class incentive compensation structures

• Partner and support our plan administration team on the monthly commissions process to ensure accurate crediting logic, transaction attribution, and policy compliance

• Assemble executive level materials and strategic business cases for decision making by sales compensation steering committee

• Monitor and evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of the sales compensation program and special incentives, providing data-driven recommendations for plan optimization

• Own the sales compensation cost model and conduct advanced financial analysis, scenario planning, and quota attainment modeling to ensure program cost meets company objectives

• Partner with our Finance and Accounting teams on compensation cost forecasting and accounting related questions

• Assist on other adjacent areas including quota setting and sales capacity planning

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications 

• 5 to 7+ years of experience in sales incentive compensation, sales operations, revenue operations, or finance

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and career experience) 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Demonstrated experience designing sales compensation plans within complex and global environments

• Familiarity and knowledge with enterprise compensation platforms such as Xactly

• Familiarity and knowledge with Salesforce

• Strong knowledge and experience using Excel/Google Sheets 

• Strong knowledge and experience using PowerPoint/Google Slides

• Strong executive communication skills with a proven ability to simplify complex concepts for senior stakeholders

• Ability to work cross functionally with minimal supervision

• Experience in management consulting

• Hands-on experience using Xactly

• SQL knowledge and experience

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions 

• Minimal travel for internal alignment, team meetings, and executive meetings

• Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office

The Senior Software Design Assurance (Sr Software Design Quality) Engineer provides technical support and guidance to Software teams to ensure conformance to software development process and other applicable safety and quality system regulation and standards (e.g. IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).

This role will be responsible for various aspects of Software Design Assurance with a focus on product improvement, new product development, and defect prevention. This position will interface with different cross functional groups (Software Engineering, Software Test, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Project

managers, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and others). A positive attitude is important while working in a fast-paced environment and dealing with shifting priorities.

Where you come in:

• You will actively participate as a core member of the R&D Quality Assurance Engineering team, supporting software design assurance for cloud‑based, data platform, and AI/ML‑enabled systems.

• You will provide hands‑on technical guidance to cross‑functional teams on IEC 62304, 21 CFR 820, and other applicable global regulations for software‑as‑a‑service, data, and AI‑driven products.

• You will lead the effective application, compliance, and continuous improvement of software development and validation practices for distributed systems, cloud services, and data platforms.

• You will drive pre‑market risk management deliverables, including Software Hazard Analysis (SHA), design FMEA, and risk controls related to cloud infrastructure, data processing, and AI/ML functionality.

• You will guide Software Design and Test teams on software design assurance activities such as requirements traceability, software configuration management, tool validation, and integration of cloud and data services.

• You will review and approve software design control deliverables associated with cloud‑hosted services, data pipelines, and AI/ML components to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality.

• You will support post‑market activities related to software anomalies, model behavior, data quality issues, risk assessments, and CAPA activities, as applicable.

• You will author, review, and maintain technical documentation including Design History Files, SOPs, protocols, and reports for cloud‑based and AI/ML‑enabled systems.

• You will assess change control activities related to infrastructure, data, or model changes to ensure no adverse impact to product performance and to maintain a compliant state.

• You will effectively communicate plans, progress, risks, and design assurance considerations to cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.

What makes you successful:

•     Nice to have: AI/ML experience or ASQ CSQE certification.

• You bring strong experience in software design assurance for cloud‑based, data platform, API, and service‑oriented systems in a regulated environment.

• You have demonstrated hands‑on knowledge of IEC 62304, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and their application to software‑as‑a‑service and data‑driven products.

• Your proficiency includes applying software design assurance principles across the SDLC, including requirements analysis, architecture and design reviews, implementation oversight, integration, and verification.

• You have experience performing and reviewing software risk management activities, including Software Hazard Analysis (SHA), design FMEA, and change impact assessments for cloud, data, and AI/ML components.

• You are skilled at reviewing and approving software design control deliverables to ensure traceability, risk control implementation, and regulatory compliance.

• You have experience supporting software configuration management, tool validation, and integration of cloud services, data pipelines, and platform components.

• You communicate effectively with cross‑functional partners and can clearly present design assurance, risk, and compliance topics to technical teams and senior leadership.

Experience and Education Requirements:

We are seeking a Regional Civil Design Engineering Project Manager working remotely in and around the West region(California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona) of the United States. Reporting to the West Region VP of Construction and Design. The Regional Civil Design Engineering Project Manager  will be working with the Sales and Construction teams and guide the athletic facility design process. Engineer will help design, manage and complete the West Regional Design project workloads including Autocad production drawings, permitting, and performing stormwater design and calculations utilizing HydroCAD and/or Hydraflow for hydraulics and hydrology tasks. Work will be for all levels of athletic facilities and accompanying infrastructure design and construction.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and manage production of civil design/construction plans, including notes, details, plan and profile sheets, and cross-sections. Prepare schedules, assign projects, update project data base
• Prepare and negotiate design agreements including schedule, scope, and budget
• Prepare and submit project permitting packages.
• Lead the team in preparing technical storm water calculations for athletic facility development.
• Prepare technical reports, memos, and exhibits to support project documentation.
• Perform technical review of drawings, specifications, calculations, shop drawings, and other engineering documents for conformance with industry standards and company recommendations
• Perform preliminary engineering evaluations, including quantity take-offs and opinions of probable construction cost.
• Conduct research and select technical reference data for project specifications.
• Support the sales team with concept designs and sales meetings with clients.
• Highly communicative role—must be comfortable interacting with jurisdictions, peers, clients, and supervisors to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with installation crews, subcontractors, and sales teams to resolve technical and operational challenges.
• Perform site construction visits and prepare associated field reports.
• Review and approve subcontractor invoices and assist project managers in billing, design, and engineering tasks.
• Oversee project closeout, including Certificates of Completion, As-Builts, and final checklists.
• Provide subject matter expertise to sales and customers to secure contracts.

Experience & Education Desired:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a technical school degree with equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred(CA, OR, WA), with 6-10 years’ experience and the with ability for licensure reciprocity in neighboring jurisdictions.
• Experience in civil site design, including site layout, grading, drainage, water, sewer, earthwork, and sediment control preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design.
• Strong leadership skill:
  • Lead the regional Design & Sales Process: Organize and assemble scope for new design projects with sales, customers, and local contractors
• Strong multitasking and crisis management skills, including handling customer service demands, construction RFIs, and installation challenges.
• Experience with bidding and estimating processes, ensuring proper budget allocation and project scope completion.
• Ability to track projects and maintain communication with project teams, customers, and sales throughout execution.
• Knowledge of material compliance and subcontractor coordination, including visiting regional aggregate quarries and civil partners.
• Ensure all projects are closed out in a timely fashion at or under budget with customers fully engaged with completion and punch-list complete
• Attend sales meetings with Regional Sales Managers to outline minimum civil details and design recommendations
• Visit regional aggregate quarries, verify material compliance
• Visit with regional civil partners and subcontractors
• Attend and participate in Weekly Regional Conference calls (WIP Calls)

Travel Requirements:

Travels, when necessary, by several modes of transportation

Region:  Home Office (preferably) based in the Southeast region of United States

 Moderate overnight travel (up to approx 10%) by land and/or air.
