About Unconventional AI

Unconventional AI is rethinking the very foundations of computing to optimize energy efficiency for the AI era. Founded by experts across AI systems, analog circuits, computing theory, and neuroscience, we are building a completely new compute substrate for artificial intelligence. By designing hardware specifically for probabilistic AI workloads, we are bringing biology-scale efficiency to AI—without the biological baggage.

Backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Jeff Bezos, we are a fast-growing, exceptionally well-capitalized team on a mission to break free from traditional GPU constraints and power the future of AGI.

About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional Technical Recruiter to join our Talent team. Because we are building an entirely new paradigm of AI hardware—combining neuromorphic engineering, analog circuitry, and advanced software—the talent we need is rare, multidisciplinary, and highly sought-after.

As a Technical Recruiter at Unconventional AI, you will partner directly with our founders and engineering leaders to design sourcing strategies, attract world-class talent, and close exceptional candidates. This isn't a standard software recruiting role; you will be mapping entirely new talent pools across deep tech, hardware architecture, AI research, and neuroscience. You will act as a strategic advisor, helping to build the recruiting engine from the ground up while maintaining an uncompromisingly high talent bar.

In this role, you will:

  • Own Full-Cycle Recruiting: Manage the end-to-end hiring process for highly specialized technical roles (e.g., Analog Circuit Design, AI Infrastructure, Machine Learning Research, and Systems Engineering), from initial scoping to offer negotiation and closing.
  • Partner with Leadership: Work closely with technical leaders to deeply understand hiring needs, define role requirements, and translate business priorities into actionable talent plans.
  • Build Pipeline: Design and execute creative, proactive sourcing strategies to identify and engage top-tier passive candidates in highly competitive and niche technical markets.
  • Elevate the Candidate Experience: Ensure every interaction reflects Unconventional AI's bold mission and values, providing a high-touch, seamless journey from outreach to onboarding.
  • Architect Recruiting Operations: Help build and refine our internal hiring processes, interview loops, and ATS workflows to scale efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Evangelize our Mission: Serve as a brand ambassador, representing Unconventional AI within the academic, scientific, and deep-tech communities to attract pioneers who want to build the next generation of computing.

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • 5+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally within a high-growth startup, frontier AI lab, or specialized deep-tech/hardware environment.
  • A proven track record of sourcing and closing exceptional talent in complex technical domains (e.g., AI/ML research, semiconductors, embedded systems, or high-performance computing).
  • Deep technical curiosity. You don’t just match keywords; you have a genuine interest in understanding novel computing architectures, hardware-software co-design, and the future of AI.
  • Strategic advisory skills. You are comfortable challenging assumptions, utilizing market data to influence hiring decisions, and guiding senior stakeholders through ambiguity.
  • A builder’s mindset. You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic startup environments where you are expected to operate with high agency, autonomy, and a sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional communication skills. You can authentically and compellingly articulate a highly technical, visionary company mission to top-tier candidates.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience hiring talent at the intersection of hardware and software (e.g., AI accelerators, neuromorphic computing, or advanced silicon).
  • Experience with academic recruitment and deep ties to top-tier research communities.

Logistics & Benefits

  • Compensation: Highly competitive base salary, generous early-stage equity, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Healthcare: Premium medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents.
  • Time Off: Flexible PTO to ensure you stay rested and energized.
  • Culture: A collaborative, intellectually rigorous, and mission-driven environment in our San Francisco headquarters.

Unconventional AI is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.

Senior Technical Recruiter
Scientific Safety Alliance (SSA) · Remote (US) · Full-time

We're hiring a Senior Technical Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting for the technical talent that powers SSA's branches — the Field Service Technicians, Field Service Managers, and engineers who become our Scientific Safety Professionals. This is a builder's role for someone who loves the hunt, holds a high bar, and wants real ownership in a company that's scaling fast.

About SSA
Scientific Safety Alliance exists to Accelerate Science. Delightfully. Founded in 2022, we've become one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country — named to Inc. Magazine's 2024 and 2025 lists — creating $300M+ in enterprise value through 25 acquisitions in just over three years. Now we're building the team that will take us to $1B+.

We serve the life sciences world — pharma, biotech, hospitals, and research — by removing the operational friction that slows discovery down. And we're 100% founder- and employee-owned: the value you help create compounds directly for you.

What you'll do

  • Own recruiting end to end — intake, sourcing, screening, interviews, offer, and close — with personal accountability for every hire.
  • Hunt for A-Players — proactively find and win the top 10% of technical talent, the people who won't apply on their own.
  • Partner with hiring managers across our branches to define what "great" looks like and guide confident, timely decisions.
  • Source the passive market — LinkedIn Recruiter, advanced Boolean/X-ray search, referrals, and competitor talent mapping.
  • Build pipelines ahead of demand and map talent in new geographies as we grow through acquisition.
  • Tap industry communities (CETA, NSF, NEBB) and the broader field-service and skilled-trades network.
  • Protect the culture — screen for our values and advance only people who'll thrive as owners.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of full-cycle recruiting, with a track record hiring technical, field-service, skilled-trades, or engineering talent.
  • Real sourcing mastery — you get replies from busy, employed professionals.
  • An eye for A-Players and the ability to sell them on a mission-driven, employee-owned culture.
  • Experience partnering with hiring managers, ideally across multiple or field-based sites.
  • Bonus: exposure to field service, calibration/metrology, controlled environments, life sciences, or medical device.
  • An ownership mindset — self-directed, entrepreneurial, and energized by fast growth.

Why you'll love it here

  • Equity ownership in SSA — you share in the value you build
  • 100% paid medical, dental & vision for you and your family
  • 401(k) match
  • Life insurance
  • Generous PTO and parental leave

If you want ownership, autonomy, and a direct hand in scaling a mission-driven company — we want to hear from you. Apply today and help us Accelerate Science. Delightfully.

Salary: $85,000 – $100,000 / year

Destro's MothershipOS is a shared brain across all robots, unlocking complex factory and warehouse workflows. Unlike traditional systems that rely on local intelligence on each robot, Destro brings global intelligence across the entire operation. Destro recently closed its Seed round at one of the highest valuations for a robotics company at this stage, and is already deploying in production with large enterprise operators

About The Role

We're hiring a Founding Recruiter to build and run Destro's talent engine. This is one of the first ten hires at the company, and you will own hiring end-to-end as we scale from a small founding team to 20 to 30 new hires a year, most of them engineers. You will be hands-on, sourcing, closing, and building the process as you go, with direct access to the founders and no existing playbook to inherit.

Recruiting here is not a service function. You will have a seat at the table, shape how we hire, and be expected to speak up. Most of your time goes to recruiting and headhunting. The rest goes to supporting the business side: keeping our hiring and people tools running, handling basic HR operations, and helping the sales team with outreach and pipeline tracking.

What You'll Do

Recruiting

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering and technical roles, including robotics, software, systems, and field deployment engineers.
  • Be a hunter: proactively identify and engage top talent across robotics, ML, systems, and infrastructure, rather than waiting for applicants.
  • Build talent heatmaps of the companies, labs, and teams where the best robotics engineers sit, and use them to guide sourcing strategy.
  • Source and close passive candidates through LinkedIn, GitHub, research networks, university labs, and referrals.
  • Build long-term relationships with candidates who are not ready to move today, so they are warm when the right role opens.
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to define role scope, tradeoffs, and urgency before a search begins.
  • Manage offers, negotiations, and closing, working directly with the founders.

Operations and Tools

  • Own and administer our hiring technology stack, including the ATS (Breezy), sourcing tools, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Build repeatable systems: job description templates, outreach sequences, interview scorecards, and pipeline dashboards. Track and report on KPIs and department metrics.
  • Support onboarding logistics and basic HR operations for new hires in coordination with our payroll and HR tools.

Who You Are

  • Proven ability to source and close passive candidates on your own.
  • Ability to quickly learn our domain and become a deep tech talent expert.
  • A desire to become our first talent/HR hire and grow into a future executive at Destro.
  • Direct, organized, and seeking a high velocity environments.

Required

  • 1+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience (spanning from sourcing to closing).
  • Skilled with LinkedIn Recruiter and other AI-native recruiting / sourcing tools.
  • Experience hiring technical roles at a startup or high-growth company.
  • Strong diplomacy, tact, and experience closing highly sought-after candidates.

Strongly Preferred

  • Prior agency experience handling high-volume/cadence or mid-level executive recruiting.
  • Experience with AI-native recruiting stack or modern sourcing tools
  • Familiarity with basic HR operations, onboarding, and payroll tools.
