Secret Insider Tricks to get you the Job Interview

Can you catch the attention of a hiring manager, or a recruiter, and schedule an interview on the spot?

yes

But, don’t use an AI app promising you a resume that will get you to the top of the pile - it won’t - especially if you exaggerate your experience. Companies are on the watch for AI fraud. Don’t use an app to fake or fool hiring companies.

What impresses hiring managers?

  • Your professionalism
  • Your personality
  • Your warm voice
  • Your listening skills
  • Your energy
  • Your knowledge
  • Your friendliness

the Interview

You’ll start with a telephone call.

The sound of your voice is powerful and high-value (even in a voicemail message).

Mention your contact by name - people love to hear their name.

First, you’re NOT looking to get hired on the spot, you’re looking for a telephone conversation or a telephone interview. You need to work to get the call, and be prepared for the call.

  • Any call with a hiring manager is good practice and will boost your confidence. The more you do these calls, the easier it gets.
  • This is not a “spray and pray” approach of applying to hundreds of jobs - the opposite.
  • One at a time and only 1 a day.
  • This means you need to be picky. This means you only reach out to jobs where you got a high score.
  • Pick a job that you’re excited about, and are good enough to do.
  • Know something about the company and understand the role. Expect to do 1 hour of research a day (if you don’t do the research you won’t have a chance).
  • Get to the point
  • Mention your high score, and have your PDF from My Jobscore ready.
  • One company a day is the key to not quitting
  • In all of these contact channels, you will leave a message and ask for a response. If you don’t hear back, move on.
  • Your phone’s caller display. Your full name, and nothing else. Use an email with your name in it. Your LinkedIn must be fixed in advance.
