Staff Recruiter - Commercial

Twist Bioscience

**
United States
Full Time
Posted 6 days ago

Twist is hiring a Staff Recruiter to own hiring for our Commercial organization: Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Commercial Operations, plus select roles in other functions. This is a senior individual contributor role for a recruiter who already operates as a strategic talent advisor.

You will run complex, confidential and hard-to-fill searches end to end with minimal oversight. You will find the people who aren't looking, guide senior leaders through every decision from intake to offer, and use data, market intelligence and AI-enabled tools to make hiring faster and better.

What you'll be doing

  • Act as a strategic talent advisor to Commercial leaders and hiring managers, translating business strategy and growth plans into current and future hiring needs.
  • Lead rigorous intake meetings that define success in the role, the profile, the market reality and the assessment plan before a search opens.
  • Manage hiring managers through the process: set expectations, hold teams to timelines and feedback SLAs, and push back with data when a profile, process or offer won't land.
  • Coach leaders on structured interviewing, calibrated assessment, compensation positioning and closing, raising the bar on hiring decisions across the business.
  • Independently own a portfolio of Commercial searches, from sourcing and screening through assessment, offer negotiation, close and onboarding handoff.
  • Negotiate and close competitive offers, managing counteroffers and complex candidate situations.
  • Design and execute proactive sourcing strategies to reach passive, hard-to-find talent, including competitive and market mapping, talent intelligence and direct outreach.
  • Use Greenhouse as the source of truth for every search, with clean data and disciplined process.
  • Apply AI and modern recruiting tools (sourcing platforms, outreach automation, AI-assisted research, resume screening and scheduling) to increase speed and quality, and share what works with the team.
  • Use hiring metrics and market data (time to fill, funnel conversion, pipeline health, compensation benchmarks, talent availability) to diagnose problems and guide decisions.
  • Ensure every process complies with employment laws and regulations, and follow regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a track record of owning complex, senior and hard-to-fill searches independently.
  • Experience in both agency or search-firm and in-house corporate recruiting. You bring the hunter's sourcing and closing skills of agency work and the partnership and process discipline of in-house.
  • Deep experience recruiting Commercial talent (sales, marketing, market access, business development, commercial operations), ideally in biotech, life sciences, diagnostics or pharma.
  • Proven ability to manage and influence senior leaders and hiring managers, including holding them accountable to process and pushing back with data.
  • Hands-on fluency with recruiting technology and AI tools, and a habit of experimenting with new ones. Advanced Greenhouse (or comparable ATS), LinkedIn Recruiter, and Google Workspace.
  • Strong command of recruiting metrics and compensation data, with the ability to turn them into clear recommendations.
  • Experience designing or rolling out programs that improve hiring, such as structured interviewing, interviewer training, assessment frameworks or pipeline programs.
  • Experience building diverse candidate slates and inclusive hiring processes.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and compliance as it applies to recruiting.
  • Sharp judgment, high attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency. You stay organized across many searches when priorities shift quickly..
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience building commercial teams from the ground up, such as a new territory, product launch or market expansion.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 or other regulated quality environments.
