Come join us.

    About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Portfolio Reporting and Compliance, to lead portfolio reporting and financing compliance at Solar Landscape. This leader will own the reporting and compliance function end to end, build and manage a team of analysts and accountants, and serve as the primary accounting and compliance contact for our lenders, tax equity investors, and auditors.

You will lead three connected areas:

    • Portfolio reporting. Own the reporting framework that leadership, investors, and lenders rely on, and set the standard for its accuracy, timeliness, and insight.
    • Financing and capital contribution transactions. Lead the accounting workstream for new project financings and capital contributions, from term sheet review through funding and onboarding.
    • Compliance through the operating life. Own the compliance program for every financing vehicle across its operating life: covenant and DSCR testing, reserves, distributions and waterfalls, capital accounts, and recurring lender and investor reporting.

The ideal candidate combines partnership accounting expertise with proven people leadership. You will set policy, make judgment calls on complex structures, and partner with finance, legal, investments, subscriber management, and asset management. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership and external capital providers as we scale a fast-growing, mission-driven renewable energy business.

    Responsibilities

    Portfolio accounting and reporting

    • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycle for all portfolios and financing vehicles, including timelines, review standards, and sign-off.
    • Lead budget vs. actual and variance analysis; present drivers and recommendations directly to senior leadership.
    • Design and continuously improve management, investor, and lender reporting packages, including KPIs and dashboards.
    • Oversee portfolio budgets and forecasts and liquidity forecasting.
    • Set accounting policy and positions for complex portfolio matters and document technical memos under US GAAP.
    • Financing and capital contribution transactions

      • Lead the accounting workstream on new debt, tax equity, and other financing transactions, from term sheet and document review through close.
      • Review transaction documents to flag accounting, reporting, and compliance impacts before execution, and negotiate workable reporting terms.
      • Own the onboarding of newly closed projects and financing vehicles, including entity setup, chart of accounts, and opening balances.
      • Serve as the primary accounting contact for lenders, tax equity investors, and their advisors.
      • Compliance through the operating life

        • Own the compliance program and calendar for every financing vehicle, ensuring zero missed deliverables or covenant breaches.
        • Oversee and approve covenant and DSCR testing, reserve requirements, debt service, partner distributions, and cash waterfalls under credit, partnership, and operating agreements.
        • Review partner and member capital accounts, including contributions, distributions, and allocations of income and loss, and resolve complex allocation questions.
        • Identify compliance risks early, escalate to leadership, and lead remediation, waivers, or amendments with legal and counterparties.
        • Lead the external audit and lender or investor reviews for the portfolio, acting as the main point of contact for auditors.
        • Ensure compliance with project agreements and regulatory and government requirements, and keep controls documented and tested.
        • Team leadership and process

          • Hire, manage, and develop a team of analysts and accountants; set goals, review work, and run performance conversations.
          • Build scalable processes, controls, and systems (including ERP and automation tools) so reporting and compliance keep pace with portfolio growth.
          • Write and maintain policies, procedures, and desk guides for the function.
          • Lead special projects and cross-functional initiatives and represent the function in leadership discussions.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
    • CPA, CFA, MBA, master's in finance, strongly preferred.
    • A minimum of 8 years of experience across project finance, portfolio management, fund accounting, public accounting, or investment banking, including at least 2 years managing people.
    • Deep knowledge of debt agreements, LLC and partnership agreements, and tax equity structures (e.g., partnership flips), and how they drive distributions, waterfalls, and capital account allocations.
    • Expert Excel and modeling skills, including sources and uses, liquidity, waterfall, and covenant compliance models; able to review and challenge others' models.
    • Proven FP&A leadership (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) and the ability to present results to executives, investors, and lenders.
    • Hands-on experience with the operating phase of infrastructure, real estate, or solar assets, including covenant and DSCR testing, distributions, and lender reporting.
    • Ability to own complex processes independently, make sound judgment calls, and manage relationships with auditors, lenders, investors, and other third parties.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint); ERP experience (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) a plus.
