About This Role The Specialty Welder is responsible for performing precision manual GTAW (TIG) welding on multi-alloy materials to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements. This position requires interpretation of welding procedures (WPS), engineering drawings, and specifications, as well as coordination with welding personnel, engineers, and other quality professionals to maintain the highest standards of weld quality and workmanship. Familiarity with orbital GTAW welding on pipe and/or tube is a plus. The role requires the ability to pass practical weld qualification testing to applicable code requirements and to demonstrate consistent procedure compliance through live evaluation. Pass practical weld qualification testing to applicable code requirements. Maintain strong attention to detail and a quality-first mindset. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Shipping & Order Processing Process daily domestic and international shipments using StarShip or other designated shipping software. Generate shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation. Verify products, quantities, addresses, and order information prior to shipment. Ensure customer orders are packaged, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time. Coordinate shipments with parcel carriers, LTL freight carriers, and internal departments. Maintain accurate shipment information and records within the company's ERP and shipping systems. Assist with maintaining an adequate inventory of shipping and packaging supplies. Pallet Wrapping & Shipment Preparation Operate the automated stretch wrapping machine to securely prepare pallets for shipment. Inspect pallets before wrapping to ensure products are properly stacked, stable, and free from visible damage. Apply corner boards, top sheets, edge protectors, stretch film, and other packaging materials as required. Monitor the wrapping process to ensure proper film tension, coverage, and overall package integrity. Affix appropriate shipping labels, identification tags, and documentation to completed pallets. Replace stretch wrap film and perform minor machine adjustments as needed. Report damaged products, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to the Shipping Supervisor. Material Handling & Warehouse Support Safely operate a sit-down forklift as an essential function of the position. Load and unload trucks using a sit-down forklift or other approved material-handling equipment. Move, retrieve, and stage pallets and materials throughout the shipping and warehouse areas. Stage completed and wrapped pallets in designated shipping areas. Operate pallet jacks and other approved warehouse equipment as required. Operate an order picker when trained and authorized, as needed. Maintain production and shipping pace while meeting quality and accuracy standards. Assist with other shipping, warehouse, and material-handling duties based on departmental needs. SAFETY & HOUSEKEEPING Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
