And much more€¦ Position Summary The Med/Surg unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing care to patients. This is a 64-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. We strive to create places where patients choose to come for healthcare, where providers desire to practice, and Team Members want to work. The RN - Medical Surgical Unit provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients Develops individual nursing care plans Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed Evaluates patient care outcomes Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees Administers medications, treatments and therapies. Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care. Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition. Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given. Required Skills Critical thinking skills Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Capable of working in a stressful environment and taking appropriate action. Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate's degree required Bachelor's degree preferred Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire Licenses: Registered Nurse licensed to work in the State of Kentucky. **New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment. This is a 14-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support. How you'll contribute You'll make an impact by utilizing your specialized plan-of-care intervention and serving as a patient-care innovator. You will shape exceptional patient journeys every day and leverage your skills and our cutting-edge technology to directly impact patient wellbeing. The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given.
