Remote (USA) | Base $135,000 to $150,000 plus commission | Target Year 1 OTE $300,000
ABOUT THE JOB
Build a new market in the industry you already know.
Our client is a fast-growing outsourcing company that builds dedicated remote teams for US businesses. Their people handle customer support, sales support, scheduling, admin, and back-office work inside the client’s own systems, as part of the client’s team. They became a known name in two niche industries by learning those businesses deeply, and the model worked well enough that they’re now taking it into new markets, starting with an acquisition that opens the door to real estate.
They’re hiring one or two Vice Presidents of Business Development to lead that expansion. Each VP owns a vertical: Real Estate, Home Services and Construction, Waste Management and Environmental Services, or Hospitality. You’ll build the go-to-market from the ground up: who to call, what to offer them, how to price and package it, and how to turn the first few clients into a reputation. You’ll report to the Senior Vice President of Sales and work alongside Marketing and Customer Experience. This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial seat for someone who wants to build a market, not inherit one.
THE MANDATE
Our client is clear about who will thrive in this role, and who won’t.
They’re not looking for someone who has spent their career selling staffing, outsourcing, or BPO services. They’re not looking for a strategist who needs a team to execute, or an account manager who’s most comfortable growing relationships someone else opened.
They’re seeking an industry insider: someone who has spent years in real estate, home services or construction, waste and environmental services, or hospitality, running part of the business or selling into it, who knows the owners and operators by name and understands where the work piles up: the phones, the scheduling, the paperwork, the follow-up that never gets done. You can sit across from a CEO and talk about their business, not about outsourcing. You don’t need to have sold a service like this before. They’ll teach you the offering. You bring the industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own new business for your vertical, from first conversation to signed agreement, with a pipeline you build yourself
- Design the go-to-market for a new industry: the ideal client profile, the offer, the pricing conversation, and the partnerships that open doors
- Land strategic partnerships and national accounts, then deepen them
- Be the face of the company in your industry: conferences, trade associations, client visits, and the dinners where deals get started
- Work with Marketing and Customer Experience so what you sell is what gets delivered, and what you hear in the market shapes the offer
- Help set the strategic direction of the division as the new verticals take hold
IDEAL PROFILE
- 5+ years in B2B business development with deep relationships in one of the target industries: real estate, home services and construction, waste management and environmental services, or hospitality
- 5+ years in senior sales leadership with a track record of winning in that industry, or selling into it
- Comfortable building and managing relationships with owners and the C-suite
- Experience in high-growth environments, using data and technology to drive results
- An entrepreneur’s mindset: strategic enough to design the plan, hands-on enough to run it
- Collaborative, efficient, and motivated by results; you want to win the day
- Energized by networking and industry events
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, communication, or a related field
- Strong written and spoken communication; tech-savvy and quick to adopt new tools
- Not required: any background in outsourcing, staffing, or BPO
LOCATION & WORK MODEL
- Remote, anywhere in the US
- Core hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central
- Travel for industry events, conferences, and client meetings
COMPENSATION
Base salary: $135,000 to $150,000, plus commission
Target OTE: $300,000
Realistic first-year earnings: $200,000 to $250,000 while you build the book
Benefits details will be provided during the interview process.
