Technical Program Manager - New Product Introduction & Production Ramp Up

Eaton

Posted 2 days ago

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Technical Program Manager - New Product Introduction & Production Ramp Up. This is a remote position with up to 25% anticipated travel.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.

Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Eaton's fastest-growing data center segment seeks an experienced Project Manager for new product introduction and production ramp-up. The role involves managing complex, multi-team projects and requires proven success in delivering results on time and within scope. Candidates should possess technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to drive accountability across teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Own end-to-end project management across multiple concurrent projects — from scoping and scheduling through execution, risk mitigation, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans (scope, schedule, budget, critical path) aligned to business case commitments and stakeholder expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, finance, and commercial functions across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Drive accountability without direct line authority — influencing team members, functional managers, and senior leaders to maintain commitments and resolve roadblocks.
  • Leverage technical understanding of project work to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, identify risks early, and validate that deliverables meet requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues; develop mitigation plans and escalate as appropriate to keep projects on track.
  • Establish a consistent project reporting cadence: prepare and present project status updates, metrics dashboards, and executive summaries to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Facilitate structured phase-gate and milestone reviews; coordinate readiness assessments across commercial, technical, and operational dimensions.
  • Drive alignment on scope, priorities, and resources across sites and functions — resolving conflicts constructively and creating clarity where ambiguity exists.
  • Manage project change control — evaluate change requests for schedule, cost, and scope impact, and obtain approvals before implementation.
  • Conduct lessons-learned sessions at project closeout and contribute to continuous improvement of the project management processes, tools, and standards.
  • Partner with functional leaders to staff projects appropriately and clearly define team member roles and accountabilities.

This role could be the next step in your career if you demonstrate the following experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive project or program management experience, with demonstrated success delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects.

You will set yourself apart by demonstrating some or all of the following:

  • Eaton PROLaunch or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering-intensive environment.
  • Familiarity with ProLaunch, PMBOK, or equivalent stage-gate project management frameworks.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or higher; experience applying CI tools in a project context.
  • Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar) and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience managing projects across international sites or in a global matrix organization.

Keys to role success:

  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closeout, consistently meeting schedule, scope, and quality commitments.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams — including remote and matrixed team members — and achieving results without direct authority.
  • Sufficient technical understanding of the subject matter (manufacturing, engineering, or operations processes) to ask the right questions, identify gaps, and validate work products.
  • Results orientation: A bias for action and accountability — tracks commitments relentlessly and creates urgency across teams without creating conflict.
  • Influencing without authority: Skilled at building relationships and credibility across functions and levels; uses data, logic, and interpersonal skill to align stakeholders and move work forward.
  • Technical curiosity: Asks sharp, informed questions; understands enough about engineering or operations work to spot risk, call out gaps, and push back constructively on estimates or plans.
  • Structured communication: Presents complex project status clearly and concisely to executive, technical, and operational audiences; tailors message to the room.
  • Risk thinking: Anticipates problems before they become crises; proactively surfaces issues with proposed solutions rather than just escalating problems.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable managing ambiguity and shifting priorities across a dynamic, multi-project environment; adjusts plans without losing sight of end goals.
  • Cross-cultural collaboration: Builds effective working relationships across geographies, functions, and organizational levels; inclusive of diverse perspectives and work styles.

We will not consider candidates who:

  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc

The application window for this position is anticipated to close on 9/30/2026.

Enterprise Program Leadership

  • Lead complex, cross-functional transformation programs spanning Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Operations and external partners.
  • Build integrated plans across priorities, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions and readiness.

  • Bring the right leaders together to resolve cross-functional issues and drive timely decisions.
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable plans with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.
  • Step into ambiguous or high-priority initiatives where additional structure and program leadership are needed.

  • Lead end-to-end program execution for the Customer Data Platform across Data, Product, Engineering, Ad Tech, Security, Privacy and business teams.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as a senior program leadership partner to Product, Engineering, Data and business leaders.
  • Challenge assumptions, commitments and plans constructively when risks or dependencies are not sufficiently understood.
  • Escalate material risks or unresolved decisions with clear context and a recommendation.
  • Influence across functions without relying on direct authority.
  • Partner with the broader Tech PMO team to strengthen consistent program and portfolio practices.

What We Need

  • 8+ years of technical program, transformation or technology delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-team technology programs.
  • Hands-on experience delivering a Customer Data Platform implementation, from vendor selection or build through integration and adoption.
  • Experience working across Product, Engineering, Data, Security, Operations and business teams.
  • Strong technical literacy and credibility with Product, Engineering and Data leaders.
  • Deep experience in integrated planning, dependency management, risk management and executive communication.
  • Ability to create structure and momentum in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions without direct authority.
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to connect technology execution to business outcomes.

Desired Experience

  • Experience leading platform implementations, vendor integrations or technology transformation programs.
  • Experience helping teams adopt AI or other emerging technology responsibly, moving from pilots to scaled, governed practice.
  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated environment, including privacy and security review.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • You create clarity from ambiguity.
  • You anticipate issues rather than simply report them.
  • You can operate strategically while still getting close to the work when needed.
  • You challenge constructively and bring recommendations, not just problems.
  • You build alignment across teams with different priorities and perspectives.
  • You drive accountability without unnecessary process.
  • You are comfortable leading work where the path is not fully defined.
  • You build trust across technical and business teams.

PrePass, LLC

About PrePass

PrePass® is North America's most trusted weigh station bypass and toll management platform. We’re transforming how the transportation industry operates—creating solutions that keep trucks moving safely, efficiently, and compliantly. This means making bold decisions and building systems that support not only fleets but the broader economy. It all starts with enabling commercial vehicles to keep rolling with seamless toll management, weigh station bypass, and safety solutions. It’s what we do best, and we do it to meet the demands of the road every day.

That’s why people join us: our solutions are implemented in real-time, on highways and interstates across the nation, helping fleets go farther, faster. This work challenges and rewards, presenting complex problems that need ambitious answers. We hire bold thinkers with a heart for impact, a passion for progress, and the optimism to shape the future of transportation.

About the Role

As PrePass scales from a bypass-and-tolling provider into a unified compliance ecosystem, the complexity of delivering software has grown dramatically. Multiple product lines, a newly acquired codebase, state agency integrations, and partner marketplace commitments all compete for engineering capacity. We're looking for a Technical Program Manager to bring structure, predictability, and cross-team alignment to how we plan, execute, and ship.

This is a high-visibility role working at the intersection of engineering, product, and operations — someone who can translate roadmap ambitions into realistic delivery plans and hold the organization accountable to them.

Problems You'll Help Solve

Unpredictable Release Cadence

Teams building across bypass, tolling, compliance, and hardware-integrated systems operate on different rhythms. Create and maintain a structured release calendar to reduce surprises for customers, state agency partners, and internal stakeholders.

Engineering Capacity Visibility

Leadership needs to make portfolio-level tradeoffs (new integrations vs. platform stability vs. compliance features) but lacks a consistent view of what teams are working on and when it will land.

Cross-Team Dependency Management

A delay in any one integration/update/tool can block multiple teams. Dependencies need owners and visibility.

Essential Responsibilities

Program Planning & Delivery

  • Own the integrated delivery roadmap across PrePass product lines: bypass, toll management, safety alerts, INFORM analytics, and compliance.
  • Establish and maintain a dependable release schedule, coordinating across engineering, product, QA, and operations.
  • Drive program kickoffs, milestone reviews, and retrospectives — creating accountability without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Translate product roadmap priorities into phased, executable plans with clear owners, timelines, and risk mitigations.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Map and track cross-team dependencies, escalating blockers before they become delays.
  • Facilitate alignment between engineering teams.

Visibility & Reporting

  • Build and maintain program dashboards that give engineering leadership and the CTO a real-time view of delivery health.
  • Produce clear, concise executive status updates — surfacing risks, decisions needed, and milestone progress without noise.
  • Define and track engineering KPIs: cycle time, release frequency, defect escape rate, and on-time delivery percentage.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and eliminate recurring sources of delay — unclear requirements, late dependency discovery, incomplete acceptance criteria.
  • Standardize Agile ceremony practices across teams to improve sprint predictability and retrospective follow-through.
  • Lead post-incident reviews on missed releases, building a culture of blameless learning.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience in a software product company.
  • Demonstrated track record of improving release predictability across multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong command of dependency mapping, risk management, and critical path analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical executives and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tooling (Jira, Confluence, or equivalent).

Bonus Points For

  • Background in transportation, logistics, fleet technology, or regulatory compliance software.
  • Experience managing integrations with third-party telematics or marketplace platforms.
  • Exposure to post-acquisition integration programs.
  • Familiarity with .NET / Azure cloud environments (enough to understand engineering discussions, not to code).

What Success Looks Like in 90 Days

  • Published and socialized an integrated program calendar covering all active product lines through end of year.
  • Identified the top 3 recurring sources of delivery delay and proposed mitigation plans.
  • Established a weekly program health report used by the CTO and product leadership.

Benefits

How We Will Take Care of You

  • Robust benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision that start on date of hire.
  • Paid Time Off, to include vacation, sick, holidays, and floating holidays.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Company-funded “lifestyle account” upon date of hire for you to apply toward your physical and mental well-being (i.e., ski passes, retreats, gym memberships).
  • Tuition Reimbursement Program.
  • Voluntary benefits, to include but not limited to Legal and Pet Discounts.
  • Employee Assistance Program (available at no cost to you).
  • Company-sponsored and funded “Culture Team” that focuses on the Physical, Mental, and Professional well-being of employees.
  • Community Give-Back initiatives.
  • Culture that focuses on employee development initiatives.

Join Us

At PrePass, our mission drives us.

We invest in relationships. We challenge ourselves to innovate and improve. We win together. Simply put, we live our Core Values.

Ready to help move the transportation industry forward? Join us and let’s drive progress—together.
