Litify
About Us
At Litify, we're powering a new era for the legal industry. Since its founding in 2016, Litify has helped law firms and corporate legal departments turn operations into impact through its leading AI-native Platform of Action.
Over 55K legal professionals and 450+ enterprise clients across plaintiff, insurance defense, immigration, and the Fortune 500 trust Litify to combine cloud-based technology, configurable AI-native workflows, agentic AI, and powerful business analytics into one open ecosystem that moves legal teams from systems of record to systems of action.
Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and recognized as an Inc. 5000 and Deloitte Technology Fast 500 fastest-growing private company, Litify is at the center of legal innovation. Headquartered in New York, we're building the last legal platform our customers will ever need.
About the TeamLawyers bill in six-minute increments, and every one of them counts. Litify Time & Billing turns that time into revenue: time entry, billing rules and rates, pre-bills and invoices, payments, e-billing, and a two-way sync with Accounting Seed. If you like problems where a rounding rule matters and an invoice has to be right every time, this is your team.
About the RoleLitify is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Time & Billing team. The code you ship decides how firms capture their time, bill their clients, and get paid. We recently integrated with an AI time-capture partner, so the work lawyers do during the day becomes time entries that flow straight into billing. That is the kind of work this team takes on, and on a small team, your part in it is visible.
We want a strong, versatile engineer who works across the stack and is eager to dig into new technologies. Our product runs on Salesforce. Prior Salesforce experience isn’t required: if you come from Java, C#, TypeScript, or a similar stack, senior engineers on the team will help you learn the platform.
AI-assisted development is how this team works. We use AI coding assistants every day to plan, write, test, and review code. We want someone who already builds this way, knows how to check what the assistant produces, works within solid guardrails, and helps teammates do the same. AI makes each of us faster, but the team still designs, reviews, and decides together.
How we work:We value speed and follow-through. If you like shipping steadily and seeing your impact in the numbers, you will fit in here.
- We are a team of four engineers, part of a team of nine with an engineering manager, a product manager, a UX designer, and two QA engineers
- We work in two-week agile sprints, where engineers and Product refine the work together and we estimate story points as a team
- We track what we complete each week and look at how AI helps us deliver more
- Features start from Figma designs and go through full QA and a package regression pass before each release
- We ship three major releases a year as Salesforce managed packages, plus patch releases, on a set schedule rather than through continuous deployment
- We keep meetings to a minimum and work through Jira and Slack
In this role, you will:
- Design and build features for time capture, billing, and invoicing, from the data model to the UI
- Help lead how the team builds with AI, from agent workflows and shared prompts to review practices
- Build and maintain integrations, from our Accounting Seed sync to AI time-capture partners
- Help build, test, and ship our releases
- Go beyond the code: help shape requirements with Product, test your work end to end with QA, and refine UI details with UX
- Contribute to project documentation and knowledge bases
To be successful in this role, you have (required):
- 4+ years of experience with a typed back-end language (for example Java, C#, TypeScript)
- Front-end experience with modern JavaScript, a component framework such as React, and CSS styling
- Solid data modeling and SQL skills, including working with large data sets and designing code that scales
- A habit of writing tests
- Daily, hands-on experience building software with AI coding assistants
- An ability to communicate clearly with Engineering and Product, including teammates in other time zones
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience developing on Salesforce (Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL), or Salesforce Administrator or Platform Developer certifications
- Experience at a Salesforce ISV, such as releasing managed packages and passing security review
- Legal billing knowledge, such as fee arrangements, rates, write-downs, and LEDES e-billing
- Experience with Accounting Seed or another finance or ERP product
- Experience building AI tooling, such as custom agents, MCP servers, or shared prompt libraries
Where you can grow:
- Learn the Salesforce platform with support from senior engineers
- Use professional development funds for courses, conferences, and certifications, including Salesforce certifications
- Grow into owning an area of the product, from design through release
- Help shape the team’s AI practices and grow into leading them
- Build toward a senior role at a company that likes to promote from within
Disclosure:
This job is fully remote, with the exception of employees living in New York City and New Jersey. Our NYC/NJ employees adhere to our hybrid schedule, which involves working in our Manhattan office 6 days a month.
The estimated base salary for this role is $115-120k. You may also be offered a bonus and benefits.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide.
Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.

With a presence across both the US and UK, and trusted by key players on Broadway and the West End, we are passionate about our work and driven to innovate with our customers to solve current and future challenges with new solutions.
Our core product, Nliven, is a real-time platform that helps venues manage ticket sales efficiently while creating a more engaging buying experience for customers. We are transforming our engineering culture to align with an Empowered Teams model, embracing Continuous Delivery and focusing on building capabilities to drive higher quality, reliability, and speed.
Even with a highly dispersed, largely remote workforce, we stay connected through our Slack channels, virtual events and regional meetups. Come see how we “role”.
About The Role
We're looking for a full stack Software Engineer to help build and improve the nLiven platform, working in both the frontend and backend. You'll write code across .NET Core and modern JavaScript frameworks like React and Vue, extending and improving our existing systems with tests as part of every change.
We're hiring at two levels, and the scope of the role grows with your experience. Early-career engineers will start with well-defined tasks and bug fixes, learning our codebase and practices while senior engineers pair with them, review their code, and help them grow. Engineers with solid full stack experience will own well-scoped features from start to finish, with guidance from senior engineers when the path isn't clear.
You'll report to an Engineering Manager and work closely with a team that invests in its engineers. We'll determine the right level based on your experience and the interview process, so if you're not sure where you land, apply anyway.
This position is full-time and fully remote. Candidates must be located in California, Oregon, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisiana, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, or Connecticut. Candidates may be required to travel and/or meet up in-person from time to time. There may also be an expectation in the future for hybrid work in a local office.
About You
You're curious about how things work and eager to keep growing, whether that means picking up a new language, learning an unfamiliar part of the codebase, or taking on a bigger piece of work.
You take pride in quality. You write tests, make small and safe changes, and try to leave code better than you found it.
You communicate clearly and ask questions early. When you're stuck, you say so, and when you make a technical decision, you can explain why.
You value feedback and collaboration, whether it's a code review, a pairing session, or working with Product and Design to understand the problem behind the work.
What You'll Do
Build features and fix bugs across the stack, from well-defined tasks to features you own from design through production, working closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineers.
Write clean, readable, maintainable code, with automated tests as part of every change.
Work confidently in existing codebases: read before you change, follow established patterns, and make small, safe changes that get reviewed early.
Understand the customer problem behind your work by partnering with Product and Design.
Participate in code reviews by acting on feedback, asking questions to learn, and giving clear, constructive feedback to others.
Follow the team's coding standards and best practices, and suggest improvements where you see them.
Investigate and fix bugs and performance issues, pulling in senior engineers when a problem needs a wider view.
Build with security in mind, including input validation, authorization checks, and error handling.
Add logging, monitoring, and tests to the features you build, and use what they show to improve them.
Pair and mob regularly with teammates to build skills, share context, and help newer engineers get up to speed.
Update technical documentation, such as API contracts and design notes, when your work changes how something behaves.
Contribute to architectural discussions, bringing perspective from the code you work in day to day.
Point out friction in tooling, docs, CI/CD workflows, or team processes, and help fix it.
Take part in production support and incident reviews alongside experienced teammates.
Other Duties
Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for the job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

-
Professional software development experience:
Level 1: Up to two years. Internships, co-ops, and substantial personal or open source projects count.
Level 2: Two or more years of full stack development in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
Experience building with a modern frontend framework (Angular, React, or Vue).
Back-end or API development experience. .NET Core is ideal, but a similar stack plus a willingness to learn .NET works too.
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with data modeling experience for Level 2.
Experience with automated testing. Level 2 candidates should be writing unit and integration tests as part of everyday development.
Comfort using Git for version control.
A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals.

Curiosity and a strong desire to learn, including picking up new languages, tools, and parts of the codebase.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a methodical approach to debugging.
Clear communication: you ask questions early, flag blockers, and can explain what you've tried and why.
Openness to feedback, and a habit of learning from code reviews, pairing, and mistakes.
Ability to work independently on your own tasks, with good judgment about when to ask for help.
Solid time management, keeping your work moving and teammates updated while balancing multiple priorities.
