Software Engineer

Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00

Remote

CSC Corptax is the platform behind corporate tax for many of the largest enterprises in the world, handling provision, compliance, planning, and strategy all in the same solution. In addition to tax, we pioneer new solutions in the corporate software space.

We are looking for a software engineer to help us build the next generation of revolutionary tax preparation products.

The Team

We're a driven team that works test first, so quality belongs to everyone rather than to a separate function. Development is agent-led, using tools like Claude Code. However, we stand behind every line of code we ship.

Tech Stack

We choose tools to fit the problem, so the stack is flexible. Today it centers on Python, Node.js/TypeScript, C#/.Net, and React, running on cloud infrastructure with modern CI/CD. Experience with these specifically is a plus, but strong engineers who pick up new tools quickly are what matter most.

Some of the things that you will be doing:

  • Design, build, and maintain core product systems across data ingestion, computation, user interfaces, and regulatory output.
  • Own features end-to-end, from shaping requirements with the team through design, build, release, and iteration based on client feedback.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and own the tests and tooling the team depends on.
  • Work with systems where data security is of utmost priority.
  • Turn research prototypes into reliable, scalable production code.
  • Write and review design documents and take part in code reviews.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, technical standards, and engineering practices.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance, security, and reliability.
  • Document systems and decisions so the team can move quickly and safely.

What technical skills, experience and qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with at least 1-3 years of industry experience (equivalent practical experience will be considered as well).
  • Have contributed to shipping production systems where you helped design, build, and maintain the solution.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern languages, such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#/.Net.
  • Experience with agent-led development tools, such as Claude Code.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, relational databases, version control, and CI/CD.
  • Quality tests written as you build, not as an afterthought.
  • A product mindset: you care about whether what you build solves the user's problem, not only whether the code works.
  • Comfort learning an unfamiliar, complex domain quickly and independently.
  • Experience working alongside researchers or on problems without settled answers.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience building data-dense interfaces for expert users.
  • Experience with systems where correctness is audited or regulated.
  • Experience with containerization, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
  • Experience in an early-stage product or startup environment.
  • Experience integrating with ERP, general ledger, or other financial systems.
  • Background in tax, regulatory, legal, accounting, or another rule-governed domain.

What You Get Out of This

  • A funded product with real regulatory stakes.
  • Ownership of meaningful parts of a product from early on.
  • A small team that shares ownership of quality.
  • Daily access to researchers, tax experts, and the world-class team behind the Corptax product suite.
  • The budget and infrastructure to do the job properly.
  • Fully remote in the U.S., with occasional on-site time or time-zone overlap as needed.

A Note from the Team

Corporate software is unforgiving. A wrong number is a real problem for a real client, so everything we ship must be correct and traceable. We need engineers who test by habit, own their work, and learn a challenging domain quickly. If that sounds like the team you want to join, go ahead and apply!

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

You pride yourself in owning problems but don’t want to work in a vacuum to solve them. Collaborating with the team to come up with the best solution for your customer is what fuels your fire.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Research, design, develop, secure and solutions that facilitate communications with over 2 millionAutomox agents deployed globally.
  • Extend, enhance, and evolve event driven services to provide new and exciting features in the Automox platform and in our endpoint software.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by testing, performance tuning, refactoring, making usability improvements, and automation.

  • Experience writing automated end-to-end tests (Python, Playwright, or similar)

How We Work

We run a 70/20/10 model across our engineering pods: 70% of sprint capacity goes to primary roadmap, 20% to tech debt and service health, and 10% to learning and exploration. That last 10% is protected — it's how we invest in our engineers and stay sharp as a team.

We're moving toward full service ownership, where the team that builds it, runs it. That means you'll understand your services at a level most engineers don't get to — cost profiles, failure modes, operational behavior — and you'll have the autonomy to make them better.

We have an Architecture Review Board (led by our Principal Engineer) that provides guardrails and review for significant technical decisions. You'll have input there as your experience grows.

The salary range listed is the base pay range for this position. In addition, the total compensation package includes bonus, equity and benefits. Actual earnings may be less or more depending on a candidate's direct experience, skills, industry knowledge, and location.

What We’re Building

Honeycomb is a service for the near and present future, defining observability and raising expectations of what developer tools can do! We’re working with well known companies like HelloFresh, Slack, LaunchDarkly, and Vanguard and more across a range of industries. This is an exciting time in our trajectory, we’ve closed Series D funding, scaled past the 200-person mark, and were named to Forbes’ America’s Best Startups of 2022 and 2023!
If you want to see what we’ve been up to, please check out these blog posts and Honeycomb.io press releases.

Who We Are

We come for the impact, and stay for the culture! We’re a talented, opinionated, passionate, fiercely inclusive, and responsible group of bees. We have conviction and we strive to live our values every day. We want our people to do what they truly love amongst a team of highly talented (but humble) peers.

How We Work

We are a fully distributed company, which means we believe it is not where you sit, but how you deliver that matters most. We invest in our people and care about how you orient to our culture and processes. At the same time we imbue a lot of trust, autonomy, and accountability from Day 1.

Little more about the team:

The team builds observability for AI in Honeycomb. We help customers see what their agents are doing, what those agents cost, and where errors happen. We also give them insight into individual conversations so they can debug them. We're bringing LLM and agent observability together, and we own both the data foundation and the product experiences built on top of it. You'll work in a small, cross-functional group of engineers with a dedicated product manager and designer, shipping features customers use in production. If you want to define how people understand and debug AI systems, this is the team for you.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Deliver AI observability capabilities end to end, from ingestion to in-product visualizations.
  • Contribute to the data model and infrastructure that let us observe agents and their ecosystems across the Honeycomb product.
  • Build systems that analyze and surface AI-specific signals, such as cost, token usage, errors, and anomalies.
  • Collaborate with product and design partners to make sure what we build is usable, intuitive, and unlocks meaningful user workflows.
  • Share what you learn about exploring and understanding AI system behavior across conversations and workloads.
  • Iterate through fast feedback loops and experimentation, and share both wins and failures.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience shipping customer-facing features at a SaaS company, beyond internal tooling.
  • Full-stack range, with proficiency in backend development (Go and/or Python) and frontend development (TypeScript and React).
  • A track record of working with product managers and designers.
  • Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your day-to-day engineering work.
  • Experience being on call. You'd join our rotation after about 90 days.
  • A track record of navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving field where requirements shift and experimentation is a core part of the job.
  • Bonus: Experience building LLM or agent-powered features in production.
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with observability tooling, such as OpenTelemetry.
Base Salary based on level of experience
$160,000—$180,000 USD

What you'll get when you join the Hive:

  • A stake in our success - generous equity with employee-friendly stock program
  • It’s not about how strong of a negotiator you are - our pay is based on transparent levels relative to experience
  • Time to recharge with unlimited PTO
  • A distributed-first mindset and culture (really!)
  • Home office, co-working, and internet stipend
  • Full benefits coverage for employees, with additional coverage available for dependents
  • Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave, regardless of path to parenthood
  • Annual development allowance
  • And much more...
Please note we cannot currently sponsor or support visa transfers at this time. Additionally, in compliance with applicable law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work.

Phishing and Recruitment Scam Warning:

We take your security seriously. Please be aware that recruitment scams are increasingly common and scammers may create email addresses or websites to impersonate Honeycomb employees. To help protect you:
  • All communications will come from an @honeycomb.io email address

Staff Software Engineer: Perpetuals

Consensys

Remote
Full Time
Posted 30 days ago

Please note that we are unable to consider applications from candidates based in France, Italy, or Germany for this role.

Money is moving onto the internet, and the shift has a name: Open Money. This is money that is open, portable, agentic, and owned by you. MetaMask spent the last ten years building it; with 100M+ downloads, users in ~190 countries, and trillions in cumulative transaction volume, it's the most trusted self-custodial financial platform on the internet. Now we're building the operating system for your money: one place to hold, move, grow, and use anything you own. Join a remote-first, global team rebuilding how money works: a problem that touches everyone, every day.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will:

  • Own the technical architecture and roadmap for MetaMask's Perpetuals experience across Extension and Mobile — from real-time price/position data flows to order execution and margin/liquidation UX.
  • Set technical direction and standards for trading-critical features: precision/decimal handling, state consistency under high-frequency updates, and resilience to feed/connectivity failures.
  • Drive cross-team technical alignment with other experience teams and backend/protocol integration teams to ship complex, multi-team projects.
  • Identify and de-risk the hardest technical problems on the roadmap before they become blockers; make build-vs-buy and architecture trade-off calls for the domain.
  • Partner with the Engineering Manager on prioritization, providing the technical judgment that shapes what gets built and in what order.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, run design/architecture reviews, and raise the technical bar through example, documentation, and code review.
  • Represent Perpetuals engineering in cross-functional planning with Product, Design, and other engineering leads.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years working with web and mobile-based technologies
  • Experience building trading, financial, or other correctness-critical systems where precision, race conditions, and state consistency carry real financial risk (margin, settlement, order matching, payments, etc.)
  • Experience with real-time data systems (WebSockets, streaming price feeds, optimistic UI updates) and building resilient UX around unreliable network conditions
  • Track record of leading technical initiatives that span multiple teams or codebases without direct reporting authority — demonstrated Staff-level scope, not just Senior-level execution
  • Hands-on experience with React and React Native
  • Extensive experience with modern Javascript (ES6/TypeScript/etc.)
  • Experience with blockchain fundamentals across multiple blockchain architectures
  • Strong working knowledge developing cross platform/browser compatibility
  • Experience working in an agile development team
  • Experience developing medium to large-scale applications across the entire stack with minimal tech debt through sensible abstractions, testing, linting, and adherence to coding/web standards
  • Experience consuming and building APIs
  • A demonstrable understanding of Continuous Integration
  • Strong understanding of security risks specific to financial/trading products — transaction integrity, race conditions in state updates, precision/rounding bugs — in addition to standard web security threats (XSS, CSRF, etc.)

Bonus Points:

  • Direct experience integrating with perpetuals/derivatives protocols (e.g., Hyperliquid, Lighter, or similar) or building trading infrastructure.
  • Experience with cross-chain bridges, transaction lifecycle and/or interoperability solutions
  • Experience working in a decentralized, distributed team
  • Previous experience working in Web3
  • Product knowledge about the Web3 wallet space
  • Mobile experience (React Native, Objective C, Swift)

Other skills to demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Teamwork, flexibility, initiative, communication and organization
  • Willingness to constantly learn & improve, challenging yourself to stay at the top of your game

Don't meet all the requirements? Don't sweat it. We’re passionate about building a diverse team of humans and as such, if you think you've got what it takes for our chaotic-but-fun, remote-friendly, start-up environment—apply anyway, detailing your relevant transferable skills in your cover letter. While we have a pretty good idea of what we need, we're ready for you to challenge our thinking on who needs to be in this role.

In the rapidly evolving Web3 space, we believe that everyone is a builder. This expansive paradigm requires a range of backgrounds, talents, skills, and experiences to influence and shape the future. At MetaMask, this diversity fuels our ability to shift control and redefine the realm of possibility. We are committed to ensuring that our technology empowers people and communities through decentralized technologies. We welcome the range of perspectives and differences and celebrate them. We're excited to see how your unique skills as a builder can contribute to our vision, drive innovation, and help us shape a more inclusive Web3.

MetaMask is an equal opportunity employer. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, religion, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, family status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

MetaMask is aware of fraudulent recruitment practices and we encourage all applicants to review our best practices to protect yourself, which can be found on our page.

MetaMask may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of our recruitment process, such as reviewing applications, screening resumes, or conducting initial candidate assessments. These tools are designed to assist our recruiting team and improve efficiency — they do not replace human judgment. A human recruiter or hiring manager reviews every candidate, and all final hiring decisions are made by people, not AI.

It is a requirement of employment in this position that applicants may be required to submit to background and identity verification checks, including but not limited to employment, education, criminal record checks, and other such checks as determined necessary by the company.
