Fenix24's breach recovery team is the largest in the world and has led more than 500 ransomware recoveries in 96 countries, including 30 of the Fortune 500. Pre-breach operational recoverability is founded on that real-world experience and is powered by Argos99 and our Resiliency Operations Center.

Our recoverability platform is purpose-built by frontline recovery experts and is deployed across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments; delivering measurable improvements in recovery readiness and faster, more confident restoration when ransomware strikes.

About This Position

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Fenix24 product team. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable, cloud-native services that process infrastructure, backup, and asset telemetry data streams and deliver valuable insights to our customers. Your focus will be primarily backend, with opportunities to work across the full stack. Our team operates with the speed and ownership of a startup, backed by the stability of an established company.

Our team has fully embraced AI-assisted, agentic development, guided by a core principle: agentic workflows scale execution, but they don’t always scale judgment. That judgment is what our engineers bring. We spend less time writing code by hand and more time understanding the problem, directing AI tools, and making sure what they produce is right, so we can move fast and in the right direction.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead the delivery of significant features from requirements through release, take long-term ownership of key areas of the platform, and help raise the bar for engineering practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of software delivery: partner with product to define requirements and success criteria, break work into iterative deliverables, and coordinate contributions from other engineers through release
  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable services and data pipelines on Azure that turn resiliency-relevant data from backup, hypervisor, EDR, and cloud sources into actionable insights
  • Build reliable integrations with third-party APIs, including handling authentication, rate limits, pagination, and changes in upstream data formats
  • Use agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow, providing clear context and direction and critically evaluating generated code for sound architecture, design, and logic
  • Serve as a long-term owner of key platform components, ensuring their ongoing health, reliability, and maintainability through robust monitoring, logging, and proactive improvement
  • Contribute to planning with a view beyond the immediate task, identifying risks, dependencies, and technical unknowns early
  • Foster a culture of learning and improvement by mentoring other engineers, providing feedback, and actively participating in retrospectives to help the team continuously improve how it plans, communicates, and delivers
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teammates to ensure requirements are met and features are delivered on time
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications, Requirements & Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in Python or a statically typed language such as C#, Java, C++, or Rust. Working knowledge of Python is required
  • Solid grounding in system design, with experience designing and building services, APIs, and data pipelines in a cloud environment, including microservices and distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding agents to build and ship software, with a clear understanding of how to guide them effectively and evaluate their output
  • Proven experience leading the delivery of features or projects involving multiple engineers, from requirements definition through release
  • Experience working on agile teams, delivering iteratively, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying code
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, especially as they relate to data protection, authentication, and secure coding principles
  • Ability to work effectively on a fully remote team
  • Hands-on experience with our technology stack, particularly Azure and our data platforms:
    • Backend: Python, Rust
    • Frontend: TypeScript, Vue.js
    • Cloud: Microsoft Azure (Function Apps, containers, and supporting Azure services)
    • Data: Databricks, Delta Tables, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB
    • Infrastructure and Delivery: Bicep, Azure Pipelines, Azure DevOps
    • AI Tooling: Anthropic Claude
  • Industry experience in cybersecurity or familiarity with common security practices and frameworks
  • Experience across multiple languages and technology stacks and interest in working across both backend and frontend
  • Background working on an early-stage or fast-moving software product
  • Excellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including strong relationship building skills and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to form relationships across all levels of the company while modeling Fenix24’s Culture and Values
Salary: $170,000 - $200,000

“In 36 months, agentic AI systems will be an operating reality across major institutions. We intend to be central to it.” — Dr. Jim Rebesco, Cofounder and CEO, Striveworks

The government’s demand for AI is growing far faster than the systems required to support it. Fewer than 15% of federal AI programs have reached sustained production, despite billions of dollars invested. The models perform in testing, but they degrade in the real world. And when performance drops, trust goes with it.

Striveworks was built to solve that problem.

What you’ll build

Since 2018, we have delivered the most trusted AI systems operating in real-world use cases—providing a layer of assurance underneath hundreds of deployed models that monitors performance, manages drift, and sustains systems long after they leave the lab.

As a Senior Software Engineer (Secret Clearance Eligible), you will be a core contributor to the direction of the company. We’re looking for exemplary engineers who have a product mindset and who can write quality code in Go and Python. We’re looking for people who are excited about our central development themes:

  • Everything as Code
  • Cloud-neutral development
  • User-centric design
  • Hexagonal, event-driven, microservices architecture
  • Optimizing, deploying, and refining AI models and algorithms

What it’s like here

We lead with trust, treat each other with respect, and use candor consistently, kindly, and constructively. We care deeply about our work, and we find genuine satisfaction in doing it well. Above all, we take ownership—because we feel the weight of collective results personally. We are looking for people who share these values and are eager to put them into practice.

What we’re looking for

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or similar experience
  • 6–8 years of hands-on development experience
  • Excellence in Go, C++ (17 or higher), Java (11 or higher), C# (9 or higher), or Rust
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Experience with DevOps technologies: CI/CD tools, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Proven experience with cloud architecture: commercial cloud, OpenStack
  • Experience in the design and development of performant, scalable services
  • Familiarity with database design and architecture: relational and non-relational
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and participate in or lead design discussions
  • Ability to independently lead the software development life cycle, from collaborating with product teams on requirements to executing technical design, implementation, and deployment
  • Experience in knowledge sharing, mentoring, and coaching (i.e., onboarding, code reviews, leading junior engineers)
  • Strong understanding of software development principles, such as object-oriented programming, design patterns, documentation, and agile methodologies
  • US citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain a Secret US security clearance

The following isn’t required, but we’d love to see it:

  • Expertise in synchronous/asynchronous programming and concurrency
  • Comfort with integrating deep learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Experience designing RESTful, gRPC, and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Expertise in networked and distributed computing
  • Experience with messaging systems (e.g., NATS, Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Experience with workflow automation
  • Active Secret (or above) US security clearance

This position offers a fully remote work environment, or you can work hybrid/on site at our office in northwest Austin, TX. You will be expected to travel about 10% of the time.

Compensation

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000–$200,000/year. Striveworks’ total compensation package includes a competitive base salary, equity grants, and cash bonuses.

Benefits include:

  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
  • Voluntary life, long-term disability, accident, and hospital indemnity insurance
  • HSA and FSA (including dependent care FSA) plans
  • 401(k) plan
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Paid parental leave

Ready to build systems that work for a mission that matters? Let’s talk.
