  • See projects through from contract and proposal to end results, implementing and designing systems that meet the standards of our contracted clients
  • Review shop drawing submittals for compliance with contract documents, and provide life safety analysis and review of design submittals
  • Perform site investigations and site analysis surveys to ensure projects are executed to company and client standards, and ensure compliance and safety standards are met
  • Resolve problems using sound engineering principles, and conduct peer review and editing on projects as needed
  • Mentor onboarding designers and junior engineers, and supervise Staff Engineers, Engineers, and Designers on your team
  • Meet with co-workers weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly to stay current on project changes and requests, and keep a clear line of communication across projects and engineering departments
  • Maintain project documentation in Newforma Konekt, and collaborate with the marketing department on project production
  • Track team metrics including utilization rate and QA/QC completion, and ensure timesheets are submitted for employees you supervise
  • Contribute to company-wide standards and processes, and maintain current knowledge of codes, standards, and local regulations

What you Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution)
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering and project management experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license REQUIRED, with current/active NCEES registration in good standing
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools, and Visual (or AGI32)
  • Knowledge and expertise in power, lighting, fire alarm, communications, and electronic security systems
  • Proficient in one-line distribution diagramming, signal degradation, short-circuit analysis, and energy usage
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills; able to author BOD narratives, design criteria documents, and engineering reports, edit specifications, respond to RFIs, and prepare meeting notes
  • Able to interface effectively with senior management and present to clients
  • Knowledge of the functionality of 3D imaging cameras
  • Strong project management, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills, including scheduling and staffing multiple projects
  • Strong work ethic; able to work independently/self-motivated, as well as in a collaborative team setting, highly organized, and detail oriented
  • Strong time management with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and duties; sound judgment and discretion
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (flights, car services, hotels) for site visits and client meetings
  • U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency

Nice to have: LEED BD+C certification, PMP certification, OSHA training, healthcare engineering project experience, and experience with Creo Parametric or with process and ground support equipment systems.
