Senior Product Manager
Anova
Join us on the Product Management team as a Senior Product Manager – LPG and Fuels & Lubricants. In this role, you will own the Anova Unify product direction for the LPG and Fuels & Lubricants (F&L) markets, translating a deep understanding of how propane, fuel, and lubricant distributors run their operations into software that helps them serve their customers more efficiently and grow. You’ll set the vertical strategy, lead customer discovery, and own the go-to-market for your markets, partnering closely with the platform Product Management team, Hardware Product Management, and Engineering. Start your journey with Anova today!
Outcomes you’ll own:
- Anova leads customer insight amongst the IoT market. Your passion for understanding LPG and F&L distributors, their delivery and supply operations, and how IoT transforms their business will keep Anova the company that best understands how IoT creates value for our customers as they serve their own.
- Greater than 90% customer device productivity. Keep customers’ device portfolios live, healthy, and reporting by solving real, value-adding problems and delivering best-in-class reliability, so customers see clear reason to keep every device active.
- Net Revenue Retention and customer value. Customers in your markets renew, expand, and advocate. You own the product-side inputs to NRR (adoption, engagement, and satisfaction), track measurable customer outcomes such as reduced operating costs and faster time-to-value, and make disciplined trade-offs to protect gross margin.
- Set domain strategy. Define the multi-year product vision for the LPG and F&L markets, grounded in customer insight, competitive dynamics, industry trends, and Anova’s strategic priorities. Build an evidence-backed roadmap the organization trusts, defining the metric before you ship the feature. Partner with platform Product Management to shape shared capabilities around your markets’ needs, and keep Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, and Marketing aligned on what’s being built and why so ambiguity is resolved upstream, not during delivery.
- Lead deep customer discovery. Design and run ongoing discovery programs with LPG and F&L customers, including interviews, site visits, usage analysis, and win/loss reviews, and stay engaged with the industry through trade associations and events. Develop a differentiated point of view on what these customers need, what they’ll pay for, and what will create durable competitive advantage in your markets.
- Drive AI-first product thinking. Identify where ML and AI (forecasting, anomaly detection, decision support, workflow automation) create meaningful customer value in your markets. Decide what to build, buy, or partner for, and move it from idea to shipped capability, while using AI as leverage in your own research, synthesis, drafting, and analysis.
- Partner with engineering on architecture and trade-offs. Engage credibly on system design, API contracts, data models, and integration architecture. Make principled trade-offs between scope, speed, and technical quality, and document your reasoning.
- Reason across the full stack. Understand how Anova’s physical devices, connectivity layer, and cloud platform interact, and make product decisions that account for hardware constraints, firmware cycles, and sensor data quality, not just software capabilities.
- Own the go-to-market. Define pricing and positioning for the LPG and F&L markets in partnership with Marketing and Sales leadership. Enable the field with vertical-specific competitive intelligence, winning narratives, and objection handling that reflect how these customers buy.
- Shape the customer success motion. Codify what success looks like for customers in your markets. Influence the playbooks, onboarding milestones, health scoring, and AI-assisted scale programs that Customer Success runs, and make sure the team is ready to help customers get value from every release.
- Mentor and develop PMs. Coach junior and mid-level PMs on discovery methods, spec quality, prioritization discipline, and stakeholder communication. Write the specs, strategy memos, and decision frameworks others learn from, and raise the bar for honest, evidence-based decision-making across the team.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum Requirements -
- 10+ years of professional experience in product management, engineering, solutions/technical consulting, or a closely adjacent technical function, including 6+ years specifically in product management — with at least two full product lifecycles owned end-to-end as the directly responsible PM, from problem definition through measurable outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- You’ve built from scratch more than once — new products, new markets, new internal capabilities — and you have the experience to prove it. The more times you’ve started from nothing and shipped something that mattered, the better.
- Demonstrated track record of shipping SaaS or enterprise software that drove material business results — measured in adoption, retention, or revenue.
- Experience owning multi-year product strategy and translating it into a prioritized, evidence-backed roadmap.
- Deep customer discovery practice — structured interview programs, synthesis frameworks, and the ability to build conviction from ambiguous signals.
- Demonstrated experience using AI and LLM tools in a product management context (research, synthesis, spec drafting, competitive analysis, data work, or customer insight), and a clear, developed point of view on how AI should show up in B2B industrial products, both internally and in customer-facing capability.
- Ability to write compelling, structured strategy documents, specs, and narratives for executive and cross-functional audiences.
- Strong technical fluency — able to engage credibly on APIs, data models, integration architecture, and system trade-offs with engineering leaders.
- Data fluency: design metrics frameworks, build instrumentation plans, analyze data in BI tools, and make evidence-based roadmap calls.
- Experience owning or significantly influencing pricing, positioning, and go-to-market decisions for a product area.
Preferred Qualifications -
- MBA
- Familiarity with the LPG/propane, fuels, and/or lubricants industries, including how distributors manage delivery, supply, and customer operations.
- Prior product management in IIoT, connected-hardware, or industrial technology environments.
- Experience shipping ML or AI-driven features — forecasting, anomaly detection, decision support, or workflow automation — in a SaaS environment.
- Background in venture or private-equity-backed high-growth industrial technology companies.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior PMs or leading a product pod.
- Domain knowledge in industrial operations, field service, supply chain, or logistics.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns — ERP, dispatch, routing, or billing system connectivity.
Physical Requirements -
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30–40% domestically and internationally.
Work Authorization -
For this role Anova will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. This is not a position for which sponsorship will be provided. Partner with sales, operations, legal, and hardware teams to influence roadmap decisions, build pricing models, and coordinate installation and support at a chain scale.
Cultivate high-trust relationships with retailers from initial pilot through long-term operation, positioning storeLink as the strongest, most labor-reducing ESL solution in the market.
4+ years of product management experience with Electronic Shelf Labels, including ownership of a product line accountable for critical business metrics like retention, conversion, or margin.
Proven experience with hardware and software integrated products, IoT, or large-scale retail technology deployments involving enterprise customers and complex B2B deal cycles.
Demonstrated track record of building unit economics and business cases, with the ability to confidently kill or pivot initiatives based on early data and stakeholder communication.
Practical use of AI in daily workflows, with preferred experience shipping features built on machine learning, advanced statistics, or LLMs.
