Ripple Effect Consulting is hiring experienced Construction Materials Testing Lab Technicians for a long-term border wall infrastructure project based near El Paso, TX and Deming, NM. This is a great opportunity for materials testing professionals who enjoy lab-based testing, steady hours, travel-supported project work, and long-term infrastructure assignments.
This role is ideal for candidates with construction materials testing experience and certifications related to aggregates, concrete, soils, or DOT testing standards.
What You'll DoAs a Lab Technician, you will support project quality control by performing construction materials testing in a project-based mobile laboratory environment. Responsibilities may include:

Performing laboratory testing on construction materials

Testing aggregates, concrete materials, base materials, and related samples

Preparing, curing, and testing concrete specimens

Running tests according to project, DOT, AASHTO, ASTM, and applicable quality standards

Accurately recording test data and maintaining lab documentation
-
Communicating results with field teams, supervisors, and project personnel

Supporting lab organization, sample tracking, and equipment upkeep
-
Following safety, compliance, and quality control procedures
Qualified candidates should have experience in construction materials testing and at least 2 of the following 3 certification areas, or equivalent DOT-recognized certifications:

ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician

ACI Aggregate Testing Technician
-
ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
-
Equivalent DOT, AASHTO, or ASTM-related certifications may also be considered
Additional qualifications:

Previous CMT lab experience

Familiarity with aggregates, concrete, base materials, and lab testing procedures
-
Ability to work extended project schedules
-
Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record

Ability to pass required compliance checks, including drug screen, background check, and MVR
This is a long-term project opportunity, with current work expected to continue into 2028 and additional project opportunities anticipated.
Technicians can expect:

8 weeks on, 1 week off, depending on project needs

Approximately 60 hours per week

6-day workweeks, typically 10-hour days

Rotating weekends off

Paid travel to and from the project

Company truck provided when required by the assignment

One week of onboarding/training in Pittsburgh
Per diem is built into the project and may vary by assignment. Current travel support includes:

Lodging support of up to $110/night

Food allowance of $60/day

Lodging may be arranged by the company

Candidates using a trailer or arranging their own Airbnb may receive the lodging allowance directly, depending on project arrangements
Local candidates are welcome, and out-of-state candidates will also be considered.
