Position Objective:
Contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective health care through the direct care of patients and in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Understands self-motivation in performing basic nursing care. Participates in the team nursing concept, completing tasks as delegated by the assigned nurse.
May be trained to insert IV’s on certain shifts/units. Validation of training and skill will be documented, upon successful completion.
Essential Job Duties:

- Provides direct care to patients with special attention to personal hygiene in daily morning and bedtime care and comfort. Initiates and maintains all types of safety measures and comfort care to patients.
- Assists with admission of patients by greeting and performing initial weight measurement, vital signs, disrobing as necessary and orientation of patient to room and equipment.
- Prioritizes discharge of patients by assisting with dressing, gathering belongings and transport if necessary to lobby; removes equipment and supplies from room for environmental staff cleaning.
- Participates in patient care, vital signs, intake and output and other data collection and records according to policy and procedure; obtains specimens as requested using approved procedure. Assists patients with mobilization and/or positioning as ordered by physician or unit protocol.
- Recognizes and reports pain, patient complaint or obvious change in patient condition to assigned nurse.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff acting as mentor when necessary and requested.
- Transports medications, as necessary during the usual course of transporting patients within the institution, in keeping with policy and procedure regarding medication security. Ensures that medication is delivered to persons authorized to handle medication according to AAMC policy.
- Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment on the unit.
- Transports patients in accordance with established safety policies.
- Processes written medical staff orders in accordance with established policy and procedure; communicating STAT or urgent orders to the care provider.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of experience as a CNA in acute care setting preferred.
- If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required to perform the duties of a qualified interpreter
Required License/Certifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
Additional Requirements by Department:
- STABLE: Pediatric Unit, Postpartum Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Labor and Delivery Unit within 6 months of hire

Occupational Therapist I - PRN - AAMC

Position Objective:
Evaluates and provides treatment to pediatric through geriatric patients for Occupational Therapy services providing therapeutic intervention specific to the individual needs of the patient. Completes interventions and documentation according to regulatory and departmental standards.
Essential Job Duties:

- Conducts Therapy evaluations and treatments using a variety of appropriate treatment techniques and documents according to established departmental policies and procedures.

- Consults with and serves as a resource for physicians, nursing staff, and other clinicians to increase knowledge of therapy services. Demonstrates ability to use clinical decision-making skills to triage caseload and problem solve patient care issues.
- Functions as a therapy leader performing administrative tasks as needed (i.e. patient scheduling, completing predictive staffing matrix).
Educational/Experience Requirements:
The minimum level of education and experience for this position includes:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Acute care or related experience preferred; however, new graduates will be considered depending on current departmental staffing.
Required License/Certifications:
- Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider BLS Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Patient Access Rep - Behavioral Health

Through patient interviews and using the EMR, this position will capture Critical Data Elements (CDE’s) to ensure program’s ability to meet identified needs and facilitate admission into treatment. This non-clinical healthcare professional is responsible for obtaining accurate patient registration information, including but not limited to demographic and financial information, while working in a fast-paced, clinical environment.

Required Minimum Education. The minimum level of education for this position includes:
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· College course work toward an AA or BS degree in the Behavioral Health Field or two years recovery oriented sobriety preferred.
Required Minimum Experience:
- One year experience providing service in a health care setting, preferably behavioral health.
- Experience with patient registration and scheduling in a fast-paced, team oriented setting preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills and innovative handling of difficult customers and diverse populations.
- Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Current American Health Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
· 35 wpm typing/word processing skills required
· Compassionate and non-judgemental communication skills
· Beginning knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) dimensions and criteria
