Power BI Engineer
We are looking for a strong Power BI Engineer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-grade dashboards, reports, semantic models, and analytics solutions. The candidate should be able to work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, translate them into scalable BI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets.
Build optimized data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and reusable reporting components.
Implement Row-Level Security, refresh schedules, workspace governance, and Power BI Service deployment practices.
Work with business users to gather requirements, validate KPIs, and create report prototypes/wireframes.
Optimize report performance using best practices across Import, DirectQuery, incremental refresh, and query folding.
Support migration or modernization of reports from legacy BI platforms to Power BI.
Collaborate with Data Engg teams to integrate data from SQL, cloud, and enterprise data platforms. Support migration/ modernization of reports from legacy BI platforms to Power BI.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
Good SQL skills and experience working with enterprise data sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, BigQuery, or Teradata.
Experience with RLS, dashboard performance tuning, semantic model design, and data refresh troubleshooting.
Familiarity with On-Premises Data Gateway, Power BI workspace management, and security/governance practices.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience in BI migration projects, especially from Tableau, MicroStrategy, Sisense, SSRS, or SAP BO to Power BI.
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certification, such as PL-300, is preferred.
