Registered Nurse Operating Room
Manassas, Virginia
Pay From: $45 Per Hour

MUST
One year of Operating Room experience
Experience scrubbing in on procedures
Licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
ACLS and PALS certification required

DUTIES:
Duties of the Operating Room Registered Nurse include but are not limited to the following:
Scrub in on procedures
Supervise and direct patient care in the ambulatory operating room
Perform the circulating nurse's role and functions following approved operative room procedures Prepare operating/procedure room according to requirements procedure to be performed
Prepare equipment, supplies and instruments before start of procedures and positions and adjusts equipment as needed
Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively
Support the total perioperative process
Ensure that supply, drug, instrument and equipment inventories are maintained and available for procedures and surgeries
Address patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
Identifies the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy and procedure

Duties and Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Utilize competent knowledge of growth and development stages from Pediatric to Geriatric to deliver appropriate patient care. Conduct thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments.
• Clinical Skills: Demonstrate competent clinical skills by performing direct patient care activities that support patient care delivery and the team concept. Provide appropriate nursing care and demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
• Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation, demonstrating knowledge of documentation guidelines. Assume primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient progress, including patient education.
• Professionalism: Exhibit professional practice responsibility by demonstrating knowledge of policies and procedures and identifying areas for clinical and professional growth.
• Patient Satisfaction: Respond consistently to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous, and positive manner, promoting an environment focused on patient and family-centered care.
• Safety: Follow the National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and using two patient identifiers. Demonstrate safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Unit Specific Job Function: Show knowledge of conditions, procedures, and equipment for surgical patients. Individualize patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia, assessing patient reactions and understanding.
• Responsibility and Accountability: Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on needs and condition changes.
• Patient Education and Chart Completion: Assess patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions, involving patient and family in teaching. Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education.
• Duties Specific to PAT RN: Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness.

Skills and Qualifications

• 3 years of experience
• BLS - Required
• RN License - Required
• CNOR - Preferred

Schedule

Work hours are from 7am to 5pm, with a call rotation approximately 3 times per month, including a weekend 24-hour call once every 6 weeks or twice in a contract. One winter/summer vacation is required.

MICU population is predominantly multi-system failure with co-morbid conditions. Sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure are common diagnosis in the MICU. We have recently opened a 28 bed ICU across two units which is staffed by the MICU team (16 beds on MICU3 and 12 beds on MICU4).

Traveler s permanent residence must be 100 miles or > from the hospital s service area.

General orientation will begin on Sundays. Sunday will be online CBLs. I can start the traveler any Sunday that you can complete the compliance documents by the deadline.

Please include in the confirmation: 16 hours of nonbillable orientation. Hospital can cancel/call off one shift biweekly without a financial penalty from the employed 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (use whichever is appropriate for the employment agreement) if there is a decrease in census. Additional shifts picked up above the work commitment as additional overtime shifts will be flexed as needed for hospital census decrease/decreased resource need without penalty.

Contract RN/LPN team members are expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education as we prepare future nurses for the profession. The clinical nursing student education responsibility is expected in addition to/alongside the provision of clinical care practice in every nursing specialty at Ballad Health.

Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

MUST:
The Registered Nurse must have experience:
Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania
BLS and ACLS (AHA-certified) required
Minimum 2 years of critical care, emergency, intensive care unit or IR nursing experience
BSN degree is preferred but not required
Experience in high-acuity procedural settings

DUTIES:
Prepare and monitor patients for IR procedures
Administer moderate sedation and medications as needed
Assist physicians during image-guided interventions
Monitor patient status and document care throughout procedures
Provide pre- and post-procedure education and support
Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other team members
