DUTIES:
Duties of the Operating Room Registered Nurse include but are not limited to the following:
Scrub in on procedures
Supervise and direct patient care in the ambulatory operating room
Perform the circulating nurse's role and functions following approved operative room procedures Prepare operating/procedure room according to requirements procedure to be performed
Prepare equipment, supplies and instruments before start of procedures and positions and adjusts equipment as needed
Organize nursing activities efficiently and effectively
Support the total perioperative process
Ensure that supply, drug, instrument and equipment inventories are maintained and available for procedures and surgeries
Address patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting.
Identifies the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy and procedure

MICU population is predominantly multi-system failure with co-morbid conditions. Sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure are common diagnosis in the MICU. We have recently opened a 28 bed ICU across two units which is staffed by the MICU team (16 beds on MICU3 and 12 beds on MICU4).

Traveler s permanent residence must be 100 miles or > from the hospital s service area.
General orientation will begin on Sundays. Sunday will be online CBLs. I can start the traveler any Sunday that you can complete the compliance documents by the deadline.
Please include in the confirmation: 16 hours of nonbillable orientation. Hospital can cancel/call off one shift biweekly without a financial penalty from the employed 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (use whichever is appropriate for the employment agreement) if there is a decrease in census. Additional shifts picked up above the work commitment as additional overtime shifts will be flexed as needed for hospital census decrease/decreased resource need without penalty.
Contract RN/LPN team members are expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education as we prepare future nurses for the profession. The clinical nursing student education responsibility is expected in addition to/alongside the provision of clinical care practice in every nursing specialty at Ballad Health.
