The position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at supporting the Health Service Unit. Key duties include:
- Takes vital signs, height, and weight, and documents them in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assists the physician/associate practitioner with procedures, including preparing the inmate for examination.
- Obtains specimen collection and handles them appropriately, including drawing blood.
- Assists with the cleaning, sterilization, and securing of equipment within the Health Service Unit.
- Maintains or assists in maintaining the supply stock in the Health Service Unit by ordering in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintains the supply stock in the examination rooms.
- Aggregates the orders of all medications and forwards them to the pharmacy provider/local pharmacy.

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient Psychiatry/Pediatrics clinic. This role supports psychiatric providers and behavioral health professionals in delivering high-quality patient care to children, adolescents, and adults.
Key Responsibilities-
Obtain and document patient vital signs

Schedule appointments and coordinate patient care

Process medication refill requests

Complete insurance prior authorizations

Collect and send laboratory specimens

Support both virtual and in-person patient visits

Assist with developmental pediatrics services as needed

Medical Assistant experience required

BLS certification required

Outpatient clinic experience preferred

Psychiatry or behavioral health experience preferred

EPIC EMR experience preferred

Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
