Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is seeking a talented and driven Structural Engineer - Telecom / Wireless to join our Towson, MD team.
At MRA, no two days are the same. You’ll work on a wide variety of exciting projects - New Build Telecommunication Projects (Monopoles, Self-Supporting Towers, Guyed Towers, Light Poles, Water Tank, Rooftop Sites, Various Stealth Concealment Structures, Silos, etc.), deep foundation and retaining wall designs for residential and commercial projects as well as mid-rise to high-rise concrete structures and multi-family developments. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, technical excellence, and forward-thinking design.
What You’ll Do- Design a variety of telecommunication and mid-to-high rise projects
- Perform structural analysis and modeling using RISA (RISA-3D and related tools)
- Develop construction documents and models using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
- Lead or support the preparation of proposals, reports, and design concepts
- Solve complex engineering challenges with efficient, code-compliant solutions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects across Florida
Requirements
- 3 or more years of wireless telecommunication design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (PE license preferred)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and RISA
- Experience with Revit, BIM workflows and 3D structural modeling is a plus
- Solid understanding of structural analysis and design principles
- US citizen or permanent resident (visa sponsorship is not available)

Summary
Responsible and accountable for workflow through the Engineering Department in all locations of the company. Calculates and specifies construction and material thicknesses (seismic, wind load, dead load) in compliance with International Building Codes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs job specific wind load, dead load and seismic calculations to specify products to comply with International Building Codes
- Specify materials and fastening methods for standard products.
- Attend professional organization meetings (ASHRAE, VISCMA, ETC.) to remain current on industry trends and code development
- Reviews the engineering department activities to make recommendations for changes in policy and procedures
- Work collaboratively with designers/drafters on new product designs
- Examines products to find cost reduction opportunities without sacrificing quality
- Applies for / studies for / Acquires licenses for all necessary wind load / seismic states
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- FE Certification
- Pass 16-hour SE Examination
- Four years of structural engineering
- Licensed Structural engineer in one or more states
- Understanding of applicable design codes (IBC, CBC, FBC)
- Three-plus years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the sheet metal industry
