We’re seeking a Software Engineer with strong systems administration fundamentals, hands‑on Python and Linux shell scripting experience, and the ability to build secure, reliable solutions across JWICS and C2S environments. In this position, you’ll design and maintain ElasticSearch/OpenSearch capabilities, integrate complex AWS and C2S services, and develop cloud‑native workflows using CDK.

You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with: Deep experience in software development Demonstrated experience with Python Demonstrated experience with JavaScript Ability to program efficiently in at least one other back-end (NOT UI) language Analyzing unknown software code and extracting relevant fields to determine and mimic its behavior Ability to develop a software system testing harness or implement a continuous testing methodology on a project Installing Linux from scratch and developing complex Unix shell scripts Analyzing network traffic to understand client/server communications and requests Using AWS Cloud Development Kits (CDK). (CloudFormation, Terraform or similar are NOT substitutes for CDK experience) Integrating cloud services including Lambda functions and layers, S3, Batch, EC2, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, IAM roles, DynamoDB, and container services, etc.
Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include: Tools, such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, JADX, or APKtool. Multiple cloud providers. Other programming languages besides Python.
