About the Role
You'll build the agentic systems and data pipelines behind NetworkOS's AI capabilities: production agent workflows built on industry-leading agent SDKs and harnesses, MCP servers, and Agent Skills standards; the eval and observability layer that keeps LLM quality measurable; and the ingestion pipelines that turn messy, diverse data sources into queryable knowledge.
This is an execution seat, not an ivory tower. You'll commit code every week, ship agents as product capability rather than demos, and help shape a roadmap that's heading deep into graph + agents territory — for customers in defense, public sector, and regulated enterprise.
Agents in production. Pipelines that hold. Evals that keep everyone honest.
What You'll Do
-
Ship production agent systems — design, build, and operate agentic workflows (agent SDKs, MCP servers, Agent Skills standards) powering AI-driven matching, analysis, and data intelligence
-
Operationalize LLM quality — build the eval and observability layer with Langfuse, golden datasets, LLM-as-judge patterns, and FinOps-style tracking so every workflow has measurable quality, cost, and latency
-
Engineer data pipelines — robust ingestion of documents, structured data, and external sources into searchable knowledge bases with quality validation, deduplication, and incremental updates
-
Own retrieval quality — hybrid search combining vector, keyword, and metadata retrieval, continuously improved through reranking, query expansion, and contextual compression
-
Accelerate with AI — build custom MCP tools and Agent Skills that make the whole engineering team measurably faster
-
Execute alongside the team — pair with full-stack engineers on AI integration points, contribute to incident response for AI services, and keep your hands in the code
Our Tech Stack
-
Languages: Python (primary); Kotlin (core platform language at CAI); TypeScript/Node.js and other modern languages (secondary)
-
AI/ML: FastAPI, Pydantic; multi-provider LLM SDKs (Anthropic, OpenAI, and others)

-
Streaming data experience (Kafka, Kinesis) for real-time knowledge base updates
-
Research background, open-source contributions, or an advanced degree in ML/IR/NLP
Why Join Collaboration AI?
Real AI engineering, not a wrapper shop. Production agents, hybrid retrieval, continuous evals, and a roadmap heading into graph + agents — with the autonomy to shape how it's built.
AI-native by default. We build with AI, not just for AI. Agentic coding tools (Claude Code/Codex/etc.), agent SDKs and harnesses, MCP servers, and Agent Skills standards are how we work daily — you'll both use and build them.
Work that matters. Defense, public sector, and regulated industries — SOC 2 and NIST compliance, FedRAMP readiness, and customers whose missions demand AI they can trust.
Small, senior team. Early-stage impact with your work visible from week one. You'll help set the bar for how AI engineering is done here.

The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer who treats software engineering as an art form and a discipline. What we offer:
Mercury: Counsel, Product & Regulatory - Payments & AML
Company Name
Headquarters: San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, Portland, OR, or Remote within Canada or United States
In 1905, chief engineer John Stevens inherited one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in history: the Panama Canal.
The challenge wasn’t digging a ditch between two oceans. It was figuring out how to move ships safely through a system of locks, gates, reservoirs, and changing conditions without bringing global commerce to a halt.
The solution wasn’t to stop movement. It was to create a framework that allowed movement at scale.
Modern financial infrastructure presents a similar challenge. Payment systems, banking products, compliance obligations, and regulatory frameworks all exist for a reason. The goal isn’t to eliminate complexity. It’s to build systems that allow innovation, growth, and customer value within it.
Who we are
Since 2019, Mercury has been on a mission to reinvent banking‡ for the modern age. We blend elegant design and cutting-edge technology to offer checking and savings accounts, debit cards, payment services, credit products, cash management tools, and sophisticated analytics. Everything we build reflects our belief that financial products should be thoughtfully crafted, fast, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
As we continue expanding and iterating on our product offerings and as we work to build a nationally chartered bank, we’re looking for a Counsel, Product & Regulatory (Payments & AML) to help us navigate increasingly complex questions at the intersection of product, regulation, and financial infrastructure.
About the team
Our Product & Regulatory Legal team operates like the rest of Mercury: with urgency, curiosity, and a bias toward action.
We embed with product teams from early ideation through launch, working alongside engineers, designers, compliance partners, operations teams, and risk stakeholders to get products right. We move fast, we take ownership, and we don’t wait to be asked. If something needs figuring out, we’re up to the task.
We are not a team that sits on the sidelines reviewing finished proposals. We work alongside our partners to identify risks, unlock opportunities, and find practical paths forward. We care deeply about good judgment, strong relationships, and building frameworks that scale.
What you’ll do
- Advise on payments products and infrastructure. You’ll support a broad portfolio of payments-related initiatives across Mercury. You’ll advise on matters involving payment rails, product launches, operational incidents, partner relationships, and customer-facing experiences. You’ll help product teams navigate regulatory complexity while continuing to build exceptional products.
- Partner across the company. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Compliance, Risk, Engineering, Operations, Partnerships, and Legal. You’ll build trusted relationships across these functions and bring legal perspective into conversations early, not as a checkpoint, but as a low-ego, high-ownership thought partner.
- Help launch new capabilities. Mercury is continuing to expand its product offerings while building a nationally chartered bank. You’ll support new payment capabilities (like Zelle) from early exploration through launch, helping teams identify risks, evaluate options, and make sound decisions in ambiguous environments.
- Support financial crimes initiatives. You’ll work closely with Mercury’s AML Advisory, Sanctions, Compliance, and Risk teams on matters involving financial crimes compliance. You’ll help interpret requirements, evaluate new initiatives, and develop practical guidance that enables teams to move efficiently while maintaining an appropriate risk posture.
- Build scalable guidance. The best legal advice solves more than the question in front of you. You’ll help create frameworks and guidance that improve consistency, reduce friction, and allow the organization to make better decisions over time.
- Use AI intentionally. Bring a working knowledge of AI tools in legal workflows and a genuine interest in finding new ways to drive efficiency. We’re building a legal team that works smarter, not just harder.
- Stay curious and adaptable. The regulatory and product landscape continues to evolve quickly. New payment rails emerge. Regulatory expectations shift. Business priorities change. You’ll embrace that complexity and continue learning alongside it.
What you should have
- 4+ years of legal experience.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Experience supporting fintechs, banks, payment companies, sponsor-bank programs, payment networks, BaaS providers, or regulators with substantial payments- or AML-related exposure.
- Strong working knowledge of payments-related regulatory frameworks, and an interest in emerging areas like stablecoins.
- Familiarity with BSA/AML and sanctions requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills. You know your audience and tailor accordingly.
- Strong judgment and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
- A proactive sense of ownership. You’re comfortable saying, “I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out.”
- Genuine curiosity about financial products, financial infrastructure, and the evolving regulatory landscape.
- Strong working knowledge of AI use cases within legal roles and/or financial services generally and genuine interest in using AI to drive efficiency in your work.
What will make you successful here
Mercury is a place where lawyers are expected to have a point of view. Not just about what a regulation requires, but about how a product can meet that requirement in a way that’s thoughtful, scalable, and good for customers.
The people who thrive on this team treat ambiguity as an invitation rather than a reason to pause. They read a regulation and think about what it permits, not just what it prohibits. They understand that legal advice is most valuable when it helps the business make a decision, not when it simply identifies a risk.
You’ll also spend a meaningful amount of your time on work that may not look like traditional legal practice: helping scope cross-functional projects, pressure-testing product designs, navigating operational questions, and building processes alongside compliance and operational partners.
If you’re energized by that kind of work, and if you measure your impact by whether the product, process, or customer experience got better—not just whether the memo was technically correct—you’ll do well here.
Why this role
This is an opportunity to join Mercury during a uniquely consequential period of growth.
You’ll help support existing products while contributing to the development of new capabilities as Mercury builds a nationally chartered bank. You’ll work alongside experienced legal, compliance, product, and banking professionals, gain exposure to a wide range of regulatory and product questions, and have meaningful ownership early in your career. You’ll also help shape how Mercury approaches payments and financial crimes legal support for years to come.
The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.
Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:
- US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $186,400 - $209,700
- US employees outside of the New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $167,800 - $188,700
- Canadian employees (any location): $176,100 - $198,200 CAD
While we’ve received conditional approval to become a bank, Mercury today is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC. Investment advisory products and services offered by Mercury Advisory, LLC ("MA"), an SEC-registered investment adviser. MA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mercury Technologies, Inc..
Mercury values diversity & belonging and is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. JetBrains: Backend Customer Success Engineer (Kotlin Ecosystem)
Company Name
Headquarters: Foster City, California; Marlton, New Jersey; Remote, United States
At JetBrains, code is our passion. Ever since we started, back in 2000, we have strived to make the strongest, most effective developer tools on earth. By automating routine checks and corrections, our tools speed up production, freeing developers to grow, discover, and create.
We’re now looking for a Customer Success Engineer (CSE) to help engineering teams successfully adopt Kotlin on the backend in real-world production environments.
Currently, this role is focused on adoption – helping Java teams introduce Kotlin into existing applications. You’ll work directly with organizations to guide migration, integration, troubleshooting, and scaling, ensuring they move from initial experiments to successful production use.
In addition, you’ll proactively communicate with prospective users to help them understand the Kotlin adoption process, as well as design and implement the migration path.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain visibility into organizations and their stage of Kotlin adoption (e.g., not started, evaluating, experimenting, production)
- Proactively engage with organizations across different phases of their Kotlin adoption journey
- Develop and recommend high-level adoption strategies tailored to each organization’s context
- Identify and document blockers that hinder progress and propose ways to address them
- Establish and manage feedback loops with development teams to ensure continuous alignment and improvement
We will be happy to have you on our team if you have:
Technical expertise
- Extensive hands-on experience with Kotlin, Java, and the JVM ecosystem
- Proven experience migrating Java backend codebases to Kotlin
- Experience with the Spring (Boot) ecosystem or similar frameworks (e.g., Quarkus, Micronaut, Ktor)
- Solid understanding of build tools and project structuring, including Maven and Gradle
Communication and customer engagement
- Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Developer Advocacy, or Technical Consulting
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to lead workshops, demos, talks, meetups, and other public-facing activities
- Comfort with outbound engagement, including identifying target companies, articulating value propositions, and building relationships with engineering teams
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineers, tech leads, and business stakeholders
System design and architecture
- Ability to design and guide Kotlin adoption strategies for backend applications
- Experience designing backend systems using common architectural patterns (e.g., monolith, modulith, microservices)

LaunchDarkly: Backend Engineer, Flag Delivery
Company Name
Headquarters: Remote - US
About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is hiring a Backend Software Engineer to join our Flag Delivery team. Serving data to our customers is the core of our product and we’re expanding the team to add bandwidth and energy. The team is very senior, and this role is for someone eager to learn and grow as the team balances modernization with resilience and operational improvements.
In this role, you’ll build and improve backend services that sit directly on LaunchDarkly’s critical delivery path, partner closely with SDK, Platform, SRE, and Security, and work on real-time production systems at scale. This role is a strong fit for an engineer who is excited by distributed systems, weird production behavior, and learning quickly on a senior team, and who already brings real production instincts, strong debugging judgment, and clear AI fluency in their engineering work.
Responsibilities:
- Build, improve, and operate backend services that power LaunchDarkly’s Flag Delivery systems.
- Contribute to systems that support streaming and polling delivery models for LaunchDarkly SDKs.
- Debug production issues, improve service reliability, and help the team maintain strong standards around latency, availability, observability, and operability.
- Work with technologies and patterns common to modern distributed backend systems, including caching layers, network services, concurrency, failure handling, and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with partner teams including SDK, Platform, SRE, Security, and Enterprise to deliver improvements across the broader platform.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and take ownership of the systems you help build.
- Learn the existing architecture deeply and make pragmatic improvements that increase system clarity, performance, and maintainability.
- Use AI as part of your engineering workflow with sound judgment, including knowing when to use it, how to direct it effectively, and how to verify or reject its output.
- Reason clearly about code, architecture, and whole-system behavior even when AI is in the loop.
About You:
- You are kind, coachable, and excited to learn from senior engineers.
- You already use AI regularly in your engineering work and can explain how, when, and why
- You enjoy understanding how real systems behave in production, not just how they are supposed to work on paper.
- You are curious about scale, failure, caching, delivery, and operability.
- You are energized by debugging, tradeoffs, and steadily improving systems over time.
- You bring real backend or infrastructure ownership, not just feature implementation.
- You care about writing software that is maintainable, observable, and dependable.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Experience building or operating production backend systems.
- Strong programming skills in Go, Java, Rust, or a similar backend language; today the team primarily uses Go, with some Rust in the broader environment.
- Clear, existing AI usage in engineering work.
- Ability to use AI without surrendering technical judgment.
- Familiarity with distributed systems fundamentals such as caching, concurrency, failure modes, and reliability.
- Experience debugging production issues and using observability to understand system behavior.
- Ability to reason clearly about code, architecture, and system behavior.
- Strong learning orientation and comfort working with senior engineers.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work well across engineering teams.
- Willingness to participate in on-call and production support.
