JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers in all-weather conditions on Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida property. Work involves loading and unloading trailers of cane and maintaining the yard truck in good working condition in compliance with all safety and security regulations. Conducts comprehensive post-harvest cleanup operations including pressure washing company trucks, removing debris, and maintaining overall campus cleanliness to support a safe and organized work environment.
Work is performed under close supervision with minimal latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Moves loaded and empty cane trailers within the yard to the cane receiving dump for the processing of cane into the facility
Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the yard truck to ensure it is in good working condition
Reports any mechanical issues or damage to the truck promptly
Communicates effectively with other workers and supervisors to prevent accidents
Conducts comprehensive post-harvest cleanup operations including pressure washing company trucks, removing debris, and maintaining overall campus cleanliness to ensure a safe and organized work environment
Works collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to achieve project goals
Ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Follows organizational and public safety guidelines and protocols, performs job functions in a safe manner, and reports all safety hazards per established policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED;
OR a combination of experience, certification, education and training that demonstrates expertise in the related areas.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a regular Class E Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Intermediate level industrial / commercial driving skills
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in English, orally and in writing
Bilingual – English and Spanish
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards related to equipment operation
Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, dusty, and foggy working conditions depending on weather
Ability to navigate narrow roads and maneuver around obstacles
Ability to adapt quickly to a multicultural environment
Ability to work under pressure and meet daily schedules
Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and senior workers
Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a service-oriented team
Ability to follow public safety guidelines and protocols and perform job functions in a safe manner
