Propel Homested is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our staff. The Paraprofessional plays an important role in providing scholars with the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support they need to access and participate in their educational program. Paraprofessionals support scholars in large and small groups and may provide individualized or 1:1 academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and/or functional support based on individual scholar needs and school assignments. Paraprofessionals work under the direction of certified teachers and/or other designated school staff to reinforce instruction, implement supports, collect and report student data, support classroom and school-wide expectations, and promote scholar independence and participation.

Propel East is currently seeking Building Substitute Teacher to join our amazing team. The Building Substitute Teacher will be responsible for covering day to day absences in the assigned building and absences for long term leaves. When covering for long term leaves, the Building Substitute Teacher will have the opportunity to act as the teacher of record, completing lesson plans and taking on all responsibilities as the teacher of record. At times, the Building Substitute Teacher may even fill in for permanent vacancies that occur, while the selection process is being completed. Purpose and Scope SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Performs specialized work by assisting special education teachers in instructing and supervising the activities of students with disabilities to provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment. The position is responsible for assisting assigned teachers in preparing instructional materials, preparing classrooms for activities, supervising and assisting children in the classroom and in other areas of the school, reinforcing classroom lessons, and providing other assistance as requested; incumbents may be responsible for providing assistance to special needs students or coordinating special projects and programs as assigned. The position works under direct supervision according to set procedures. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED) Degree Equivalency Formula : Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience. Master’s Degree =6 years plus required years of experience.
