First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid and emergency care as needed. Follow established protocols for handling medical emergencies. Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications to student according to physician instructions. Maintain accurate records of medication administration Communication: Communicate with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student's health concerns. Collaborate with administrators and teachers to address health-related issues. Health Records Management: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for student. Ensure compliance with health documentation requirements. What are the required qualifications? Current LPN preferred, or RN Diabetic care experience or certification preferred Experience working with down's syndrome patients preferred Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started. Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day. CPR and First Aid certification. Knowledge of state and local health regulations and guidelines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Collect, document, and report behavioral and academic data accurately and consistently. Support students in remaining engaged and on task during classroom instruction. Assist with de-escalation techniques using approved crisis prevention methods when necessary. Maintain accurate documentation and complete required reports in a timely manner. Encourage student independence while providing appropriate levels of support. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with applicable laws and district policies. Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Human Services, or a related field required. Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate preferred or required based on district assignment. Additional training or certification in behavior management, trauma-informed practices, crisis prevention, or social-emotional learning is preferred.
