Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and caring Cook to join our assisted living community in Ellicott City. The Cook will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and safe meals for our residents while following established menus, dietary requirements, and food-safety standards.
The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, works well with others, and understands the importance of providing meals that meet the individual needs of older adults.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the facility's menu and schedule. Follow special diets and resident dietary restrictions as directed, including modified-texture and therapeutic diets. Prepare meals in a clean, organized, and timely manner. Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures. Monitor food temperatures and maintain appropriate food-storage practices. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, dishes, and utensils. Assist with inventory, food ordering, receiving, and proper storage of food supplies. Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate portion sizes. Work cooperatively with dietary staff, caregivers, and management. Communicate any resident food concerns, dietary issues, or kitchen problems to the appropriate supervisor. Follow all applicable Maryland regulations and facility policies related to food service and resident safety. Perform other kitchen and food-service duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous cooking experience preferred; experience in assisted living, senior care, healthcare, or institutional food service is a plus. Knowledge of basic food preparation and safe food-handling practices. Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and staff. Food-service certification or food-handler training is preferred if applicable. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry kitchen supplies and food items as required. Ability to bend, reach, and perform routine kitchen tasks. Ability to safely operate standard commercial kitchen equipment. Compensation Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.

What You Will Do As the Director of Health & Wellness , you will provide leadership and oversight for the community's clinical operations and resident care services. Responsibilities include:
Lead, support, and provide clinical direction to the nursing and resident care teams. Help promote a positive, accountable, and team-focused culture within the clinical department. Ensure resident care and clinical services are provided in accordance with applicable Maryland regulations, community policies, and established standards of care. Participate in pre-admission assessments for prospective residents to help determine appropriate levels of care. Complete and oversee admission, periodic, and change-of-condition resident assessments. Develop, review, and revise individualized resident care plans based on assessments and changing resident needs. Monitor residents for changes in physical, functional, cognitive, and psychosocial condition and ensure appropriate follow-up. Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, pharmacies, therapy providers, and other healthcare partners. Review and transcribe physician orders and ensure appropriate implementation and follow-up. Provide oversight of medication management and administration practices. Assist with physician examinations and coordination of medical, dental, laboratory, and other healthcare appointments as needed. Support training, education, and ongoing development of clinical and resident care associates. Maintain compliance with community policies, procedures, documentation requirements, and applicable regulations. Participate in emergency preparedness, fire safety, and evacuation procedures. Assist with clinical staffing and scheduling to ensure appropriate resident coverage. Partner with the Executive Director and community leadership team to support resident satisfaction, associate engagement, and overall community success. Perform additional duties as needed to support residents and the community. What We Are Looking For Current Maryland RN or LPN license in good standing required. Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting preferred. Previous nursing leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and clinical documentation. Strong leadership and team-development skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, associates, physicians, and community leadership. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
