The Data Center Building Engineer provides maintenance support for the Data Center and campus. Operates and maintains all mechanical and electrical systems in the systems and complex. Assist outside vendors/contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and mechanical projects. Provides critical support to facility with 12-hour shifts working a 4 day on 4 day off work week. Reports to Facility Manager.

- Receives direction from the Building Engineer Lead.
- Accountable for infrastructure systems uptime, monitoring critical systems within tolerances, frequent building inspections while providing reliable service delivery to colocation customers.
- Operation of all mechanical and electrical systems in a reliable and cost-effective manner for the complex.
- Effectively learn and utilize building controls systems of chiller plants, HVAC systems, cooling towers, other water systems, and fire systems.
- Provide maintenance support for all mechanical and environmental systems, make repair suggestions, while providing feedback and improvement recommendations for the procedures.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders, man hoists or lifts, and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50lbs.).
- Contribute to minor repairs and light duty construction which includes physical structures, plumbing systems, wide range of HVAC equipment, and electrical distribution.
- Oversees third party activities and services.
- Assist in some very basic security related duties.
- 2-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience working in High Availability (Data Centers, Manufacturing, Hospital) environments.
- College/Technical degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work related experience.
- Electric/pneumatic controls operation.
- Assist in the formulation, implementation, and adherence to safety policies and procedures related to the daily operations of the facilities. Participation in safety, knowledge and skills training.
- Previous military experience a plus.
- CFC refrigeration license a plus.
- Reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, control ladder drawings and flow charts.
- Setup and use test equipment, including volt ohm meters, balancing and alignment equipment, refrigerant leak detection, refrigerant reclaim units.
- Requires understanding and principal working knowledge of parallel redundant UPS systems, standby diesel generators, large chilled water systems, automated controls troubleshooting and setup.

Responsibilities:
- •Learn and become familiar with all processes associated with the plant.
- •Learn and be able to operate PAC (Computer Control System) for the plant.
- •Learn startup, maintenance and shut down procedures for all physical plant units and utility systems.
- •Responsible for operational and maintenance requirements of the physical plant equipment and utilities including but not limited to: water supply, T.O./ boiler, dryer system, reverse osmosis, CDI and other associated equipment.
- •Responsible for water chemistry and the maintenance of water supply to the plant, boiler, cooling tower, reverse osmosis.
- •Responsible for maintenance tasks as needed or assigned by the management staff or his designee.
- •Ability to manage multiple complicated priorities/tasks.
- •Perform additional duties as requested.
- •Keep timely and accurate logs relevant to duties performed.
- •Respond to collected data and make adjustments to optimize the equipment for which the boiler operator is responsible.
- •Keep plant facilities clean.
- •Responsible for notifying Supervisors of any equipment problems.

- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma; 4–5 years of related experience.
- Certifications: Universal CFC certification preferred; Boiler Operator license preferred.
- Skills: Plumbing system maintenance, electrical equipment repair, HVAC system repair, hazardous waste disposal, CMMS, Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Teams, building code compliance, basic math, organizational skills.
- Experience: Prior boiler operator experience preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs or more) Work Environment
