Maintain a portfolio/folder with necessary information/materials to assist a substitute educational interpreter manage his/her assignment in an informed manner. 9. Participate in educational team meetings to provide feedback regarding student use of the interpreter including contributing information for the student's IEP. 10. In conjunction with D/HH teacher, develop student goals and objectives related to student’s use of the interpreter, provide ongoing assessment, and report student progress towards goals/objectives to the MDE/IEP team. 11. When not interpreting or preparing for an interpreting assignment, perform tasks that support students, their education program, and the overall operation of the classroom environment. 12. Strive to increase knowledge of the interpreting profession by regularly, reading publications, attending professional development workshops and in-service training, viewing videotapes or CD ROM Interpreter Education materials, and viewing online resources to keep up with current trends in the field. 13. Serve as a resource to the educational team by providing information about research-based theory and practices that apply to the field of interpreting. 14. Accept responsibility for student interns from a college level Interpreter Training Program. 15. Know and comply with host facility’s protocols/rules for staff and students. 16. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by Program Supervisor or his/her designee. 17. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee. Qualifications Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's Degree required. 2. Minimum of 3.5 (4.0 preferred) on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA). 3. Ability to draw from a broad spectrum of knowledge in general studies (humanities, sciences, and the arts) and interpreting (theory, psycholinguistics, and ethical behavior specific to the educational setting) in order to interpret K-12 coursework. 4. Ability to effectively interpret/transliterate in a variety of modes (American Sign Language, (ASL), Pidgin Signed English (PSE)). 5. Ability to meet all mandates that the state of PA requires of Educational Interpreters. 6. Proficient computer skills and knowledge including use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as may be required.

Position Overview: The Near North Montessori (NNM) School Extended Day Staff (part-time position) works with the extended day team along with other staff members to provide a caring, warm and fun environment for students after the school day ends. Hours of this program are Monday – Friday 2:30pm to 6:00pm during the regular school year and additional work may be available over the summer season. Position Overview: The Learning Resource Teacher and Case Management Administrator is responsible for providing remedial learning support to Near North Montessori (NNM) students as assigned at the Primary, Elementary and Junior High levels in the areas of math, reading and writing and has an active role in fostering the development of the students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. The Case Management Administrator is responsible for helping the Director of Learning Support Services with ensuring that the IEP process runs smoothly. Instructional Support the lead teacher in preparing and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active Montessori learning experiences Assist in presenting individual and small-group Montessori lessons, adapting activities to meet each child’s developmental stage and interests Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this information to facilitate learning and growth Encourage the development of early literacy, math, and problem-solving skills through hands-on, purposeful work that supports kindergarten readiness Prepare and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children Organize materials and clean the workspace to facilitate the learning process for each child Support children’s increasing independence with daily living skills (i.e., washing hands, using the bathroom, eating meals and snacks, cleaning up, etc.) Assist teachers in maintaining records on each child’s progress and development Student Support Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-discipline Provide support for children with diverse learning needs, including occasional or short-term support in small group settings when helpful for classroom participation, emotional regulation, or routines Partner with lead teachers to implement student support and/or behavior plans as needed Operational Assist teachers with the full implementation of Bezos Academy’s performance standards, policies, and procedures Support Bezos Academy classrooms by following regulations and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the classroom (i.e., cleaning materials, meal prep, nap time transitions, etc.) Prepare and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children Organize materials and clean the workspace to facilitate the learning process for each child Support children’s increasing independence with daily living skills (i.e., washing hands, using the bathroom, eating meals and snacks, cleaning up, etc.) Maintain eligibility and professional growth by obtaining a MACTE-accredited Primary Montessori teacher credential within two years (if not already credentialed) As needed, independently supervise children throughout the day in classrooms and a variety of other situations, including but not limited to arrival/departure, transitions, outside time, rest/nap time, and (if offered) extended hours Other Participate in team meetings, center activities, and staff development Assist lead teachers in conducting staff/family conferences Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information about the child’s day at the preschool Assume postures at low levels (e.g. kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor) as needed to communicate effectively with children Bezos Academy is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
