Position Overview
We are hiring a Foreman for a full-time, on-site position. This role involves working on projects at various locations, such as Jasper, Banff, and other sites across Alberta, requiring travel as needed.
The Foreman will lead and execute physical labor tasks. Responsibilities include supervising the construction crew, managing worksite safety, and ensuring that tasks are executed to the highest quality standards under the direction of the Site Supervisor.

Who You Are
The Expert: 2-5 years of commercial construction experience (retail, restaurant, hospitality), specifically in interior renovations and fit-outs.
The Multi-Tool: Skilled across interior framing, T-bar/ceiling grid systems, drywall installation, flooring/tile, expert-level mudding & taping, and architectural millwork/carpentry.
The Professional: Carpentry background or currently enrolled in an apprenticeship; formal trade schooling is a major asset.
The Reader: Able to read and interpret construction drawings and work orders accurately.
The Leader: Proven ability to supervise crews, coordinate tasks, and keep projects moving — with strong communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and subcontractors.
The Traveler: Valid Driver's License and willing to travel within Alberta for projects.
Physically Ready: Capable of labor-intensive work requiring strength, stamina, and focus.
Strong understanding of construction safety standards, with the ability to identify and mitigate on-site hazards.
A forward thinker who takes ownership, overcomes obstacles with resilience, and is deeply committed to quality workmanship.
Bonus: Experience with heritage/historical building renovations, high-end commercial interiors, or luxury hospitality projects (e.g., 5-star hotels).
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Site Execution
Execute and oversee T-bar/ceiling grid installations and metal stud/rough framing.
Perform high-standard mudding, taping, and sanding for paint-ready finishes.
Install various flooring types, tile, and architectural millwork/carpentry.
Carry out painting, sanding, waterproofing, and concrete finishing as needed.
Prep sites by clearing hazards and setting up tools and materials; assemble scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
Assist with demolition and material handling.
Leadership & Site Coordination
Supervise and guide crews, ensuring quality work is completed on schedule.
Work alongside the Site Supervisor to coordinate trades, communicate challenges, and propose solutions.
Collaborate with subcontractors and other trades for efficient task completion.
Safety & Compliance
Lead by example — maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free job site.
Enforce and wear required PPE; ensure all team members follow site safety practices.
Identify, mitigate, and promptly report hazards or safety concerns to the Site Supervisor.
Qualifications
5+ years in commercial construction (retail/restaurant/hospitality), focused on interior renovations.
Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel within Alberta.
Strong knowledge of Alberta Building Codes and construction safety protocols.
Required certifications: WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid.
Bonus: Journeyman ticket or Red Seal in Carpentry or Drywall Finishing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
A Site Dynamo (Labourer) with Highstreet is a key part in the organization and upkeep of a fast-paced multi-family construction site. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform all duties assigned by the Site Superintendent or Assistant Site Superintendent
Loading and unloading construction materials and moving materials to work areas
Installing and removing concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks and barricades at construction sites
Help equipment operator, carpenter, and others when necessary
Signaling equipment operator to guide them in moving equipment
Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites using brooms, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment
Directing traffic at or near construction sites
Adhere to relevant safety regulations
Any other duties as reasonably assigned
Work outside
Qualifications / Requirements:
2+ years of labourer experience or similar role
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
Possess general understanding of construction procedures, equipment and WorkSafe guidelines
Have good physical conditioning and stamina
Ticketed on skid steer, rough terrain forklift, boom lifts, and/or excavator would be an asset
Basic carpentry and/or experience with tools would be an asset
Highly motivated to learn in general but specifically about buildings, development and construction
Communicate openly and ethically with a positive attitude
Thrive working in a fast-paced environment
Be a team player, be self-motivated and efficient
Compensation Package:
Hourly Salary: $31.25 per hour
Annual Bonus: Highstreet pays an annual bonus based on company performance. A typical bonus for a Site Dynamo is approximately 14% of annual salary. Determined annually, the bonus could be more or less, depending on performance results.
Investment Opportunity: Highstreet encourages all employees to share in our success by offering the opportunity to invest in the projects we build and operate. To encourage employee investment, Highstreet matches employee investment at 50%, up to 20% of annual salary (i.e. for every $1 invested by the employee, Highstreet invests $0.50 on the employee's behalf). The investments are TFSA and RRSP eligible.

Satisfactory criminal and credit check.
Employees are required to have a smartphone and be willing to download certain apps for timekeeping etc. and will receive monthly compensation.
