Responsibilities Peraton’s Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team is looking for an experienced communications advisor with writing experience focused on press releases and social media. We’re looking for a writer with experience, a can-do attitude, and enthusiasm for expanding capabilities. Interested? Here’s what you’ll do: Write press releases, social media posts, and website content. Draft and create executive level and technical feature and informational pieces. Craft short- and long-form educational stories—multiple media channels—based on interviews with subject matter experts. Attend meetings and events to promote Peraton to potential customers, partners, and more. Edit copy according to style (AP and Peraton). Research and develop content on multiple company areas. Translate tech jargon to everyday, digestible language for both internal and external purposes. Create collateral ranging from white papers to marketing materials. Master Microsoft, Canva, and Adobe applications. Work with the larger MarCom team to ensure alignment with internal and external messaging. Manage portions of, and complete, projects using project management software. Proactively assess progress, from minutiae to full-scale plan, work cross teams, and meet deadlines. Collaborate with the MarCom team on varied endeavors, which may include events, employee engagement, marketing materials, and graphic design. Take initiative: Find flaws, recommend improved processes and solutions, continually grow. Be a positive team player capable of reporting to our Reston Town Center office. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or related field or a high school diploma and eight years of publishing experience. At least 8 years of corporate communications experience. 12+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Exceptional writing ability (be prepared to share clips or a portfolio). Proofreading/editing expertise and understanding of nuanced messaging. Ability to accept constructive criticism. Desire to learn and adhere to our style and brand. Flexibility to learn new software, pivot when needs change, and contribute to team efforts. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills. Be deadline oriented. Must be a US Citizen Here’s what it'd be nice if you have: Government contracting experience. Master’s degree in English, communications, or related field. Experience with graphic design/layout. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other graphics tools. Familiarity with SharePoint and other intranet tools. Experience with social posting platforms. Target Salary Range $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to support our government customer onsite in McLean, VA. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement high-quality multimedia products, including graphics, digital media, and cartography. Key Responsibilities : Design and produce graphics, digital media, cartography, and other multimedia assets for a variety of communication needs Utilize request management tools to efficiently manage and fulfill communication requests Collaborate with UI/UX designers within Knowledge Management to create visually engaging and user-friendly graphic products Develop creative designs for websites, mobile apps, newsletters, advertisements, infographics, banners, illustrations, logos, and more Ensure all graphic products comply with production standards, copyright laws, accessibility requirements, and public release guidelines Conduct thorough technical quality checks to maintain high standards Build and maintain approved concepts in HTML/CSS, ensuring responsive design principles are met Provide cartography support, including designing thematic and reference maps as needed Qualifications Required : Active TS/SCI with relevant polygraph required BS/BA degree with 12 years of experience, or as MS/MA degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD and 7 years of experience Front-end web design, UI/UX, HTML/CSS expertise Photography and video editing experience Experience leading the development of graphics, digital media, and multimedia products Experience mentoring and training junior staff members Experience creating engaging and user-friendly graphic products for various written and digital formats Experience designing graphics for websites, mobile apps, newsletters, ads, infographics, and other digital content Experience ensuring compliance with production standards, copyright laws, and accessibility requirements Experience conducting technical quality assurance and maintaining design integrity Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
