The Admission and Transfer Center (ATC) operates the high-volume patient admit and transfer center, facilitating patient access to UI Health Care inpatient services through telephone and electronic based communication. The Support Services Specialist position will perform work within the Admission and Transfer Center. This position responds efficiently and effectively to healthcare professionals, university staff members, insurance companies and the public via multi-line phones and various electronic means in a busy call center. This position provides a positive first impression to referring providers, offering one call resolution when within scope.
The Support Services Specialist will provide admission and transfer support for all inpatient care needs, and problem solve issues that arise. This position will also follow the appropriate workflows to confirm the patient is recommended for admission by the accepting provider, and is socially, and financially screened when appropriate prior to their transfer or admission. When a request is outside of employee's scope, this person will use problem solving skills to connect the caller with appropriate staff and/or services. They will develop and maintain knowledge of the full range of UI faculty, staff, and services offered by University of Iowa Health Care. They will ensure all events are documented in the patient's electronic medical record, as required by departmental policy. Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer for our Iowa market. This position is responsible for varied transportation and site engineering work on design and study projects. This position will provide engineering expertise for Iowa DOT, county and local roadway and site development projects. Roadway projects range from local facilities to arterial and highway projects. Tasks include all aspects of roadway design including roadways, intersections, drainage, utilities research and coordination, right-of-way coordination and permits, quantity take-offs and cost estimates, signing and pavement marking plans, erosion and sediment control, maintenance of traffic, report writing, and preparation of construction drawings and associated bidding documents. The candidate must communicate well and work effectively in a team environment. Roles will include task leadership and progressive responsibilities in project management. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and have a positive attitude. This position also offers opportunities to participate in professional organizations.
What You Will Be Doing:
• Roadway geometric design and modeling.
• Preparation of detailed construction plans and contract documents.
• Prepares and checks design computations, design plans, and quantity estimates.
• Use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Coordination with regulatory agencies, utility companies and subconsultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.
• Manage project design tasks with a team of engineers and designers.
• Develop project management skills to coordinate project designs and manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables with teammates and clients.
• Organize, attend, and participate in client meetings. Communicating with clients is a key function of this position.
• Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Construction Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with 4+ years of highway or interstate design experience is required.
• PE required; Must possess the ability to obtain IA PE within six months of hire.
• Prior experience working for a transportation agency or consulting engineering firm.
• Knowledge and experience with the Iowa DOT including the Roadway Design Manual and Electronic Reference Library (ERL)beneficial but not required.
• Experience using Microstation and OpenRoad Designer.
Stanley's Approach to Flexibility
While some members choose to work out of their local office on a full-time basis, we offer a hybrid schedule for eligible positions consisting of two days a week in the office, two days a week remotely, and Friday being a flexible day that can be worked either in the office or at home. Eligible roles can also offer a compressed workweek schedule. Members who participate will be assigned a 9/80 work schedule, meaning every other Friday off!
