The Backus Hospital Emergency Department is a 42 bed unit which is responsible for treating a wide variety of patients in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, the unit includes some of the latest technologies, including EPIC EMR, Teleneurology, wireless medication scanning, among others. We also have a separate behavioral health area to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is recognized as the clinical expert and a clinical practice role model for Registered Nurses. They will act as a mentor to the bedside nurse and a liaison to the managers, supervisors and clinical educators to fulfill and carry out the educational plans as well as provide feedback for development. Qualifications
Education: Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Experience: Minimum 1 (one) year RN critical care and/or emergency department work experience within past 4 (four) years. At least 3 (three) years unit specific experience and charge nurse role preferred.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN or MSN preferred)
Current Connecticut RN license
BLS certification by the American Heart Association
Ability to obtain and maintain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine
The mission of The Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine is to provide the Southern New England region with access to expertise in advanced wound care and hyperbaric medicine therapies.
Wound Care Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
· Comprehensive diagnosis and wound assessment of patients
· Ordering appropriate lab tests, imaging studies, radiographic and other cardiac imaging studies, interpret lab, imaging studies, maintain currency in advanced cardiac life support
· Management of Hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments
· Coordinate care of assigned patients including nursing care, nutrition, medications, dressings and adjunctive wound therapies
· Review patient charts, write progress notes, tabulate data, and complete other required medical record documentation

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s program. Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
· Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner through a national board certification.
· Wound care certification or experience preferred ; Training in Hyperbaric Therapy will be provided
