Differentiated instruction for our highest learners with ALP's and students are able to focus their interests through Project Based Learning. Special Education and second language learners receive support from highly qualified staff on a daily basis.
Data drives our instruction to meet the needs of each learner at all grades. Data collection begins as early as Preschool thru assessments in Kindergarten-5th grade: CogAT, Dibels, Math Expressions unit assessments, Amplify/TRC, MAP, Orton-Gillingham assessments, Writing assessments/rubrics/ECAW. We have a very active and supportive PTA at The Bergens. CTE Water Quality & Science Job Description
This position will take over our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Water Quality program and teach a General Education - Science course such as Earth Science. Teaching and/or industry experience required. Colorado Science Teaching Credential required and CTE certified or willing to obtain their Secondary CTE Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources credential
The AWHS Water Quality program is a two-year program where students take Environmental Systems: Water for one year and then Advanced Studies Water Quality for their second year including work-based learning experiences such as multiple job shadows, visits to water resources, and may be eligible to earn certifications. Environmental Systems is a lab-based course that explores the relationship between natural resources, biogeochemical cycles, ecology, and human activities. This course allows students the opportunity to engage in a deep study of a particular resource and/or system. Advanced Studies in Water Quality is a lab-based course that explores the biochemistry of water quality throughout all phases of water and wastewater treatment. Students will apply an understanding of science and engineering practices along with biology and environmental systems to test, analyze, and treat water and wastewater.
Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons, lectures, and laboratory activities in Science and Water Quality disciplines. Employ effective teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, group work, and project-based learning. RESPONSIBILITIES

Environmental Systems is a lab-based course that explores the relationship between natural resources, biogeochemical cycles, ecology, and human activities.
