Senior Microsoft 365 Security Consultant (Defender and Intune)
Remote within the United States
About Levacloud
Levacloud is a boutique Microsoft Solutions Partner focused on helping education, nonprofit, government, and regulated organizations get real security and compliance outcomes from Microsoft 365. We work with customers that typically have 1,000 to 50,000 endpoints and have invested in E5, G5 or A5 licensing but lack the internal depth to fully deploy and manage Defender, Sentinel, Intune, Entra and Purview.
We are small on purpose, senior heavy, and obsess over doing the work right the first time.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Microsoft 365 Security Consultant to take point on Defender and Intune presales, workshops, implementations, and high-level support. You will be the primary technical face to customers for these workloads, working directly with the founder and sales to design, deploy, and support Microsoft security solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who wants ownership, not bureaucracy.
What You Will Own
Your success in this role will be measured by three outcomes:
• Presales impact
• Lead technical discovery, workshops, and pilots for Defender and Intune.
• Help convert qualified opportunities into paying customers.
• Fast, clean onboarding
• Design and implement Defender and Intune architectures for 1k to 50k endpoint environments.
• Bring new customers to a defined "stable state" configuration on time and with minimal rework.
• Reduced escalations and clearer playbooks
• Handle Tier 3 issues for Defender and Intune.
• Turn recurring problems into SOPs, templates, and best practices that the wider team can execute.
Rough time allocation:
• Presales and workshops: 40 percent
• Project delivery and onboarding: 40 percent
• Support, optimization, and SOPs: 20 percent
What You Will Do
• Lead and deliver customer facing workshops and pilot engagements for Microsoft Defender and Intune.
• Assess customer environments and design tailored Defender and Intune architectures aligned with best practices.
• Implement and configure policies, baselines, enrollment, and integrations in customer tenants.
• Provide senior level advisory and troubleshooting for complex issues, including escalations from the customers' own Tier 1 support.
• Collaborate closely with sales on scopes of work, level of effort estimates, and technical input to proposals.
• Create and refine Standard Operating Procedures, runbooks, and documentation for repeatable tasks.
• Stay current on Microsoft 365 security roadmap and share practical guidance with customers and the internal team.
• Mentor and support junior consultants and engineers as the team grows.
Must Have Skills and Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security, especially:
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Defender for Office 365
• Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and compliance
• Direct experience designing and implementing these solutions in enterprise or large education environments.
• Meaningful customer facing experience delivering workshops, pilots, or similar presales engagements.
• Ability to tailor conversations to technical stakeholders and security leaders of different levels.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications, for example:
• SC 200 Microsoft Security Operations Analyst
• MD 102 Endpoint Administrator Associate
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote first setting and manage your own priorities.
Nice To Have
• Experience with advanced Defender features such as ASR rules and Controlled Folder Access.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview, or broader E5 security and compliance features.
• Experience with education or nonprofit customers and the realities of audits, funding, and compliance.
What We Offer
• Base salary between
130,000 and 170,000 USD
, depending on experience and qualifications.
• Performance based bonus
up to 30 percent of base salary, paid quarterly.
• ICHRA healthcare plan
with a $1,000 company contribution toward your premium.
• 401(k)
with
4 percent company match
.
• Fully remote role within the United States, with occasional customer travel as needed.
• Direct access to senior Microsoft experts and the opportunity to influence how our services are delivered.
• Focused scope on Microsoft security and endpoint management instead of generic helpdesk work.
Important Note on Conflicts of Interest
This is a full-time role. Because we invest heavily in our playbooks and IP, we cannot permit staff involvement in side businesses that offer competing security & compliance services.
How To Apply
Send your resume and a short note highlighting one Defender or Intune project you are proud of, including:
• Approximate environment size
