Position Overview:
- The Data Center Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-grade data center environments with a focus on Cisco UCS, VMware virtualization, Microsoft Azure, and enterprise storage platforms.
- This role ensures the high availability, performance, scalability, and security of the company's hybrid infrastructure supporting mission-critical business systems.

Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Design & Implementation:
- Design, deploy, and maintain data center solutions leveraging Cisco UCS blade and rack servers, VMware vSphere/ESXi, and Azure hybrid integrations.
- Architect and implement high-availability and disaster recovery configurations across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage and maintain SAN/NAS storage solutions (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE, etc.).
- Operations & Maintenance:
- Monitor and maintain server, virtualization, and storage infrastructure to ensure uptime and performance SLAs.
- Apply firmware, driver, and software updates across UCS, VMware, and storage systems.
- Manage backups, replication, and snapshot configurations to ensure data protection and business continuity.
- Cloud & Virtualization:
- Integrate on-premises infrastructure with Azure IaaS/PaaS solutions for hybrid cloud functionality.
- Manage and optimize VMware clusters, including resource pools, vMotion, and DRS configurations.
- Assist in workload migration to Azure or between virtualized and physical environments.
- Automation & Optimization:
- Leverage tools like PowerShell, vRealize, or Azure Automation to streamline deployments and maintenance.
- Recommend performance improvements, cost optimizations, and capacity planning strategies.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security best practices for compute, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to ensure patch compliance and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise data center environments.
- Strong expertise in Cisco UCS configuration, fabric interconnects, and service profiles.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi administration.
- Experience managing Azure resources and hybrid connections (Azure Arc, ExpressRoute, etc.).
- Proficiency with enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Pure, Dell EMC, HPE 3PAR/Nimble).
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, load balancing).
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNP Data Center, VMware VCP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA).
- Experience with disaster recovery planning, backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault), and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, vRealize Operations).
- Working knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) is a plus.
