Position Overview: Maritime & Intelligence Systems (M&IS) is a growing business within BDS Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SI&WS) focused on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. Position Responsibilities: Ensures technical conduct, progress, performance, and results are executed in compliance with established requirements, plans, and program charter. Is directly responsible and accountable to the Program Manager and has an independent reporting path to the M&IS Senior Director & Chief Engineer for (1) technical excellence and integrity of design, development, production, support, supportability, and mission success and (2) to support program cost and schedule baselines, and design-to-cost targets and cost reduction initiatives, while ensuring the safety and technical excellence and integrity of the products. Provides senior technical leadership for the program and associated proposals, and be the senior technical interface to customers and suppliers. Represents the perspective of system users and customers in program reviews. Establishes a culture of proactive technical oversight, risk management and rapid issue resolution, providing alternative paths for issue resolution and an open dialogue on technical issues. Actively leads and participates in the program Agile work process. Regularly assesses the baseline program technical execution plan against technology, complexity, and risk-adjusted benchmarks of similar engineering efforts. Advises the program manager and indirect reporting paths if the baseline plan's scope, tasks, inherent processes, resources, deliverables, and/or risks are inconsistent with those benchmarks. Prevents traveled technical risk and ensure that technical risks and issues are driven rapidly to closure. Oversees the Responsible Engineer (RE) process, where engineers and engineering leadership are assigned over the systems, subsystems, and components for each program. Implements and enforces engineering functional excellence in people, processes, tools, and practices; drive productivity improvements through the use of the lean principles/discipline; and share best practices and lessons learned. Establishes a culture of technical expertise, service, and availability within the technical community and across the enterprise. Works with functional counterparts to understand and ensure process inputs and outputs are clearly defined to enable products and services to meet requirements and be delivered on schedule and within costs. Monitors Enterprise technology strategy activities and provide inputs to Enterprise Technology Strategy to ensure technology insertion and application is relevant to the program. Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification and validation. The salary range for this position is $113k- $170k.Develop & sustain Howmet Boeing customer accounts, provide assistance with sales, technical & application training, and develop, present and target new growth business opportunities in line with HFS strategy. Assist with the development of sales, marketing and business plans, forecasts and promotional programs Provide support for field training activities for other Account Managers, distributors and customers Recommend the addition of new products and the modification/replacement of existing products within customer base Implement relevant sales and promotional programs Ensure customers have up to date product information Coordinate with product management and/or contract management to insure timely submittal of quotes and packages Monitor and take sales actions as needed to achieve overall Howmet budgets Report to senior management in efficient manner the strategic and key subjects/events Compile & submit accurate sales reports/forecasts in a timely manner Review and manage contract requirements to ensure they are within limits of established policies and procedures, including commercial and intellectual property (patent, trademark, licensing) requirements. Manage contract compliance of assigned customers to insure budget attainment. Work with the commercial team in the identification, development & sustainability of HFS accounts in line with the business strategy, ensuring strategies for distribution, optimize HFS business and minimize conflicts and internal competition. Liaise with various Global HFS locations to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Facilitate the resolution of customer issues, including quality and on-time delivery performance. Provide support for field training activities for team members, distributors, and other customers. Participate in development of designs, configuration, project scheduling and installation within the limits of established policies and procedures and coordinate communication with customers and the market to ensure customers have up to date product information. Generate quotes to support customer proposal packages and coordinate large proposals throughout the commercial and senior staff of HFS. Support coordination within the broader Howmet Aerospace groups, when required. Prepare and deliver customer presentations as needed. Coordinate commercial, technical and market details for product and marketing literature and trade show displays and communications, as needed. Establish positive relationships with customer representatives and managers in procurement, logistics, engineering, program and project offices, and other personnel to convince customers of desirability and practicability of products or services offered.
