Please note that there may be exceptional delays in this recruitment process as these positions will be staffed gradually. We thank you for your understanding. We are looking for our next Lead Wardrobe Technician. The main objective includes working as part of the Wardrobe management team to smoothly run the daily operations of the Wardrobe Department. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures.  The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as refined technical skills in costume/craft maintenance and repair.  As the Lead Wardrobe you will work in collaboration with the artists and other technical teams to achieve a smooth-running show both on-stage and off. The Lead Wardrobe Technician will: -          Assist the Head of Wardrobe with team scheduling and management; -          Manage day/evening crews by holding daily shift meetings to clearly communicate work objectives; -          Communicate costume maintenance and show notes to the crews; -          Oversee laundry and dry-cleaning needs during the day/evening shifts; -          Set up and maintain quality work practices and maintenance techniques; -          Identify costumes that are aging and bring them to the Head of Wardrobe’s attention; -          Set up and run show tracks and maintain them as needed; Participate in track rotation as needed; -          Work with technical management to establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity of performance operations of the department in the event of unexpected failure of a system, component or piece of equipment; -          Assist in managing the costume inventory and order projection; -          Assist with the inventory, orders, procurement and tracking of the department's expenditure and equipment; -          Assist with fittings on active costume pieces when needed; -          Promote and develop team-oriented philosophy stressing the importance of providing unparalleled commitment to excellence in service; -          Perform other tasks as requested: assist in PR events when needed; cover additional duties when HOD is away. Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events, rehearsals, training, maintenance and evening show performances; -          Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked in sufficient quantity to ensure the on-going needs of the production; -          Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations as they pertain to the safe operation of all elements related to the show; participate in all required health and safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training; -          Contribute to a safe and positive working environment at all times by adhering to and following all Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group standards, values, policies and regulations pertaining to safety using equipment and established working methods; -          Assist other departments when necessary for cross-departmental support; -          Complete all other job-related duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: -          At least three years of previous experience as a professional Costume Technician with working knowledge of costumes, craft, shoes, wigs and make-up application; -          Previous experience leading project's and crew; -          Previous experience working with home/commercial sewing machines and specialty machines; -          Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of SAP and Photoshop is an asset; -          Professional appearance and demeanor; -          Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts; -          Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays (specific shifts not guaranteed); -          High School Diploma or equivalent; -          Fluent in English, both written and spoken; -          Ability to obtain OSHA 30 course completion card; -          Ability to perform the essential functions of the job including, but not limited to: crouching, kneeling, standing, lifting, sometimes for extended amounts of time; lifting at least 50lbs unassisted, etc.; Full list of essential functions will be sent in the offer. The Lighting Technician covers the lighting responsibilities of the show. Lighting Technician crew members report to the Head of Lighting & Video for show notes and maintenance needs. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential, as are interpersonal skills. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. The ability to work within established deadlines is required. The ability to work effectively with diverse populations is required. All crew positions work cross-departmentally and are not solely restricted to projects within their department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. ·       Provide show coverage on the Lighting track; ·       Adhere to all Scheduling, Department, and Company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as directed by the Lighting & Video HOD. Communicate all scheduling requests and challenges in a timelymanner; ·       During the running of the show, perform all duties as outlined on the run sheets (including preset, show cues, turnover, and post-show) in a safe, professional, timely and efficient manner; ·       Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise; ·       Assist with the maintenance and repair of all technical elements of the show under the Lighting & Video Department jurisdiction; ·       Participate in work calls or department meetings; ·       Execute general repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or restock of supplies and equipment as needed; ·       Support systems for the maintenance, cleaning, and organization of workspaces; ·       Adhere to safety rules and regulations for locality and department; ·       Support gigs, trainings, rehearsals, and marketing events; ·       Participate in load-in and load-out and lend assistance to other departments as needed; ·       All other work-related duties as assigned.
