The Certification Specialist is responsible for coordinating certification readiness, scheduling, documentation, and testing administration for students. This role serves as the primary certification registrar within the Student Success department, ensuring students are accurately tracked, scheduled, and supported through the certification testing process.
By centralizing certification administration and monitoring, this role enables Student Success Coordinators to focus on student outreach, intervention, and engagement.
This position is deployed at campuses where student population size warrants dedicated certification administration support.
Key Responsibilities
Certification Administration
Serve as the primary campus registrar for certification documentation and processes
Verify certification eligibility and manage required documentation
Track student certification milestones and cohort progress
Coordinate scheduling for certification exams (FAA or other governing bodies as applicable)
Maintain testing rosters and certification records in institutional systems
Certification Readiness
Monitor certification pacing and identify students eligible or overdue for testing
Track student use of certification preparation tools and resources
Stay current on certification requirements and regulatory updates
Communicate certification progress to Student Success and Academic leadership
Flag students who may be at risk of falling behind certification timelines
Testing & Exam Support
Proctor certification exams in accordance with regulatory guidelines and institutional policies

The Aviation Institute of Maintenance is seeking a Director of Student Success to lead our campus Student Success and Career Services teams. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for creating an exceptional student experience from enrollment through graduation and employment.
You'll lead initiatives that improve student retention, certification readiness, graduation rates, and career placement while developing a high-performing team dedicated to student success.

What You'll Do
Lead Student Success
Develop and execute campus-wide retention and persistence strategies.
Monitor student attendance, engagement, academic progression, and barriers to completion.
Partner with Academic leadership to identify and support at-risk students.
Ensure proactive coaching and intervention plans are implemented throughout the student lifecycle.
Drive Student Outcomes
Oversee student progress toward FAA certification milestones and graduation.
Ensure students remain on track for certification testing and program completion.
Monitor graduation requirements and completion metrics.
Lead graduation preparation, exit interviews, and transition planning.
Lead Career Services
Oversee career coaching, resume development, interview preparation, and job search support.
Build relationships with employers and industry partners to expand career opportunities.
Monitor placement performance including interviews, offers, employment verification, and graduate outcomes.
Guide Career Services staff to achieve placement goals and continuously improve performance.
Develop High-Performing Teams
Supervise Student Success and Career Services staff.

Required
Bachelor's degree

About the Role
The Career Success Coordinator helps students successfully transition from enrollment to graduation and into meaningful employment. This position supports students throughout the full student lifecycle by proactively driving certification completion, career readiness, and placement preparation.
As a Career Success Coordinator, you will engage students early to build strong and consistent relationships, supporting them through certification and placement.
